Sherwood
Nelson
Mittlestadt
Colton
Coyle
Wood

Again, I ask, who has he developed?
Sherwood: Ducks and Preds also didn't develop him at all?

Nelson: Had one of the two best 3 seasons of his career here under Bednar?

Mitts: Is still struggling in Boston. Is that still Bednars fault?

Colton: Had his best NHL season here

Coyle: Had 13pts in 19pts when he was here and then played the playoffs with a broken hand/arm

Wood: Really?

Bednar developed Mack, Makar, Mikko, Bura, Toews, JTC, Malinski, Kadri, Lehky, Nuke, LOC, Kelly and I'm sure there's more.

Clearly, they did not intend to give him the contract he wanted. I liked him, but hopefully Hughes can replace some of what he brought.

Bednar developed blue chip prospects and established NHLers? Malinski, LOC got developed in the AHL. Lehky got given ice time, mikko popped under Roy, nuke was a top 10 pick that got given a chance on a bad roster. JTC and Nelson became whipping boys. Players that have had success and come here have failed under Bednar.

You think Bednar doesn't have any impact/influence on what goes on with players in the AHL level? Even then those guys still need to be correctly utilized at the NHL level to succeed, which Bednar has done.

Nuke was a top 10 pick that was a full blown bust till Bednar got to work with him...

Lehky got correctly utilized in the lineup here by Bednar and has taken his career to new heights under Bednar

JTC even for being the whipping boy was a 3C on a Cup winning team and had by far his best seasons of his career here... Under Bednar.

Brock Nelson was a god damn Selke finalist under Bednar...

Mikko Rantaned scored 0pts in 9 games under Roy.

Kadri came with his baggage but was still a successful C in the NHL. Had by far the best season of his career here under Bednar.

Burakovsky was a disappointment in WSH came here and had by far the best seasons of his career here.

There is plenty to criticize Bednar for. But the poor development narrative is such a lazy and incorrect narrative that gets thrown around here.

let's hope so. They both require waivers.

But yes, in reality both should be on the opening day roster, even if one is scratched. Still some moves to come I'm sure but they are basically 2/3rds of a 4th line but can play up. If Svechkov really hits he might still be a poor man's 2C

L'Heureux is a real shit disturber. Can't think of the last guy we've had like this. Kind of like a Cody McLeod meets Matt Cooke
Cody was a honest sort of nasty....... Cooke was simply just dirty, dirty, and more dirty........

So hope he's not at Cooke's level of criminal.....

The Avs losing their 4C and only getting prospects back means "they're cooked" for you? I honestly can't even imagine what it's like being you. How can the sky ALWAYS be falling?

It's their 4C for effs sake! I honestly just can't imagine your team losing their 4C and the response being "well that's it. We're goners. He was the main reason we won the president's trophy last year. We might as well not even watch any games next year! It's game over!". It seriously blows my mind. Jesus.
No they are cooked because Dallas, Minny, Vegas etc. will all figure out ways to get significantly better. All while we are stuck here getting older (at least the main core players), have no good trade assets, no real promising prospects, no reasonable draft picks, no cap space, and UFA is beyond bad. So yeah, not exactly a winning hand at the moment.

I could care less about Drury and Colton leaving and expected it. I'm just coming to the reality that we have no good moves coming and realize our biggest competition will make things happen while we basically sit on our hands.

Drury is straight up better than Nelson when it matters. So it's not just losing a "4th liner".

The return looks like guys who will do jack shit for the Avs.

I had to hop in my car right as this was going down, so I could only make a quick comment. But I'm shocked at how many people dislike this move. We've discussed Drury left, right, and center, so I'm talking specifically about the return. These are the types of players Colorado needed to target. Young, fresh legs with upside and team control. I think L'Heureux has legit offensive upside, but even if these two turn out to be another Aube-Kubel and Nieto, that's fine. So many guys, specifically depth guys, looked completely gassed against Vegas. Adding youth around the edges (these two, plus the internal guys) is going to make a difference.
Couple things:

1) L'Heureux is the exact kind of player Bednar despises. This guy goes out of his way to be a physical pest who can cross the line. I give him a few weeks before Bednar can't put him in the press box or play him 4 minutes per game fast enough.

2) I'd get the young, fresh legs argument if we were moving an older guy. We aren't. We moved one of the few guys who actually still looked fresh vs Vegas.

On f***ing point...

i know I said I wouldn't watch a minute of Avs hockey until Bednar is fired... BUT now I will have to watch L'Heureux's first game in an Avs sweater just to see the shenanigans.

Damn you Joe.
Yeah Happy has me curious to say the least.. Especially if he ends up on Kadri's wing..

Again, agree to disagree. I stand by my “Bednar is shit” at development and you can stand by your point.
