Yeah, if the fans see a guy absolutely putrid he isn't magically going to get better just because we acquired him.

This trade is bad, bad, bad.
Lindgren might become an acceptable 3rd pair Dman for us, and he might be an upgrade over CDH or whoever we put there. That is certainly possible.

It's a f***ing awful price to pay for that to happen though.

Remember when we told Habs fans that Newhook wasn't good at center and wasn't that fast and they were calling us crazy? Or when we told Leaf fans that Kerfoot wasn't a Selke caliber center? Or when we told Wings fans that JTC wasn't a suitable 2C? All these fanbases agree with us now.

Fans know better than anyone, they watch these guys every day. You should trust them.

But the difference here is that Avs aren’t giving Lindgren top pairing minutes and we fans already know that. His role will be more limited in Avs jersey than it was for Rangers.

Yeah, this must be a bit weird for you. However I also suspect you'll be our best source of info on if Lindgren is completely rinsed at this point
I will take back a bit of my tone. I guess he can can be a good third pairing guy for us. That's the least amount of responsibility he has had for years, and the Rangers D-system is awful anyways.

That doesn't mean I like the trade. That's a steep price to pay, and ideally we were looking to upgrade the 2nd pair.

That's what I'm hoping for. Getting fewer responsibilities and less ice time might help him.

It's still an overpayment for a 3rd pairing left defenseman that we bring for the PK

I think that's fair, I mean Gus Nyquist isn't worth close to a 2nd either. I think the market just stinks for buying this year :ha:

Again though. Sometimes they’re way off.
Islander fans told us Toews was a guy who was at best a 2’d pairing guy who made a bunch of brain farts all the time.
Lots of habs fans thought that Lehky was a good player but nothing more than a middle 6.
Buffalo fans loved Mittlestadt.
New Jersey fans hated Blackwood.
Caps fans told us we’d hate Bura.

Yes, I admitted, sometimes they’re absolutely dead on. Sometimes they’re way off.

Caps fans were right, I hated that f***er

Fair, but you can't compare guys in their mid 20's like Toews and Lehky who were given bigger roles in Colorado with Lindgren who's over the hill.

With that said, he should look better and less exposed in a smaller role here so there's a chance that we won't see him sucking as much as Rags fans did. I give you that.

Bura was exactly like Caps fans portrayed him: soft player with a good shot.

Lindgren is 27.

But again, I don’t trust any fans opinions with 100% accuracy whether it’s good or bad. Better for us to just wait and assess ourselves.
I understand there’s emotions here. But people love to absolutely jump to conclusions.

Lindgren is only 27... just turned it too (Feb 11th).

But we can trust our pro scouts. Eller/Parsinen/Mitts/Ryjo/Georgiev/CDH/Woods/Colton. Just a who’s who of home run player assessment.
