The Rangers didn't give up up value for CHD. Avs did for Lindgren who is also one of the worst defensemen in the league THIS year. He was also one of the worst defensemen in the league last year.

You could have done better than Lindgren the last few weeks by picking up a player for free.

I'm not trying to dunk on the Avs here (I have no reason to) but you'll see for yourself soon enough. He's beyond cooked.

Reconsider what you're doing / even posting here again

I will contribute some of that due to Rags being a turd fire this year. I don't think it is wrong to have some hope in this trade. He's coming to a way superior team in a system where he doesn't need to be "the guy" and can start off fresh. We've seen a lot of guys rebound here. I will give CMac benefit of the doubt until otherwise noted.

Guess that would explain last year then too.

Didn't your GM sign him to a 4.5M deal just last year lol.

Lindgren is worse at D than Georgiev was in goal. Not even kidding.

Better players have passed through the waiver wire in the last few weeks and you could have gotten a comparable player for a 7th or future considerations in the dying moments of the deadline. Not trying to pile on here, but you paid a premium for experience and intangibles.

Beyond that, he just seems like an awful fit for how you try to play.

Lindgren sucked last year too when the Rangers won the PT. This isn't some new development that can be tied to the rest of the team. In fact, the team's play really tanked when he was re-inserted into the top 4. Not the only reason, but probably the biggest one.

If you can't pair him with a guy who is really efficient at moving the puck, be prepared for a ton of failed clears, half assed flips to center ice that result in easy re-entries and a boat load of quality scoring chances against. Hell I'd prepare for those things even if he is paired with that kind of defenseman, they'll just happen more even more often if he isn't.

I wouldn't read too much into his "offensive outburst" either. Loads of secondary assists this year where he didn't really have anything to do with the play other than touching the puck before other guys did most (or all) of the work. This isn't really a repeatable skill and is luck driven AF.

He's not a player you can really hide either. He's gotten his f***ing carved away from Fox even in lesser minutes.
Oh well. Sometimes players go to other teams and perform better. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see

Umm... how's that Kakko trade going for you guys? For a team that absolutely whiffed on the Kakko and Lafreniere picks when they were absolutely were gift wrapped into your laps. Your player development is well known to be atrocious. The only things keeping the Rangers afloat was your Vezina winning goalie and now that's gone. Plus being A++ free agents destination. All that and you guy are STILL circling the drain for another rebuild.

I'm gonna go ahead a trust Avs management on this one.

What would you have preferred we do in terms of trades this year instead of this Lindgren deal? Name some names

People keep asking this. Just look at boatload of assets Cmac has wasted over the last 2-3 years. Now look at all the player movement over that time. High quality players have moved back and forth for a lot less then the Cmac has blown on garbage over that time.

As for this move, this sits squarely in doing nothing is better than doing something stupid. Which is advice that should have been heeded during most of Cmacs tenure as a GM.

Okay lets say all of this is true.

This doesn't change the fact that your GM just got f***ing lifted here lol.

If I had known that you would all be this sensitive I wouldn't have posted here to begin with. My bad.

But heres a parting gift: This is what Lindgren did in the playoffs for the Rangers last year

Have fun guys!

Your team played him almost 20 mins per game for 16 playoff games last year lol. Does your other dmen suck that much?

His body has taken an absolute beating the last few years. If this deal happened 3-4 years ago we’d all be singing the praises of CMac. Unfortunately he’s fallen off as his body just can’t keep up
With the Avs training staff and ability to keep guys healthy Lindgren is going to bounce back in a big way.

Bednar's system will make it easy for Lindgren to recuperate.
