and he did get suspended in the playoffs for you guys last year too. was the media not saying he was a liability then as well? not sure how deep it goes but Im sure he comment was directed at everyone but I feel mostly the media.

If I had to pick one person that he had in mind when he said that it would be Dubas. Regardless, guy is a champ and will likely be a maple leaf again at some point in his career. He’s a Toronto boy for sure, but an Av for life.

okay okay I can 100% agree with that. imo Dubas gave up on him way too early. should have given the 3rd last chance he loved being a Leaf and he's also a big Habs fan

Hearing his eye issue recovery makes me respect him way more.

I've dealt with dry contact lenses in rinks (my eyesight would vacillate between 20/20 and 20/75 or so during games) and it's unbearable (and when I'd tell my teammates, they'd "try harder" and the problem would compound itself).

I can't imagine dealing with what he went through under those stakes.
