What a smart signing. Clearly Drouin wants to stay here, really pleasantly surprised he'd sign that offer. Hopefully he gets a long term deal after the year is over.

Really great deal, one that I though was the smartest for both parties as early as we started talking about an extension during the spring. Gives Avs great value in a cap crunch and difficult position, Drouin gets another year to validate himself and maybe chase the bag year from now.

He proved to be a great fit and once he got an established in the top-6 he was a hell of a player for us.
