I still think the Lindros trade is the best in Avs history. Got the better player, won us a cup and set us up with assets for a long while. Also got one of the all time great hockey faces for the Avs.

Do you remember when the Avs created the memorial brick wall outside of the Pepsi Center? STH got to have a brick inscribed. I also think you could donate to Stan's charity and get a brick as well. I kept trying to convince folks here with season tickets to get their brick incribed, "Welcome to the Pepsi Center, the house that Eric Lindros built." but nobody took me up on it and I was willing to pay for it.

We can make shit up all day lololol, bottom line is that a key asset in that deal came from the previous deal for Forsberg. That trade precipitated not only the Roy deal but a whole slew of others that played a direct part in two Stanley Cups. It’s the most important and beneficial trade in franchise history and nothing comes even close.

The Roy trade is part of the Lindros trade tree and that's a fact, saying Lacroix would've gotten the deal done separately is just speculation. If nothing else, it made that trade easier to pull off.
