Finally saw the replay.... Yes, George panics and lost his spatial awareness (where he is in the net relative to the post) and slides partially past it - the post - placing his skate outside the post in stead of up tight on it.

It looks like he panicked a wee bit.

I swear there is no slower player in the league when you watch him but man, this guy does SO many little things right. Little passes on breakouts to guys with speed, taking a guy with him to the net, winning individual battles, etc.

Gonna have to live with the lazy/slow but he'll bring the smarts/skills.

That was the theme for the Avs all period so no shock. George the only reason the Avs were down 1 and not 4. He was stellar outside that goal.
