Avs playing way too slowly to beat this Seattle team. They need to sharpen up and made decisions quicker.

Byram and G don't work. Girards been good this year but Byram has been shit. I'd try Manson back with Girard. JJ can handle the third pairing right side good enough.

Only after the initial score. But I was amazed he even got back to the post. Meanwhile the Seattle player is double clutching the puck all alone, uncovered and able to pick the corner.

You guys expected George to stone him, eh?
George lost his balance and his angle. He squares up and thats an easy save especially for him. Lost his balance, lost his net, lost the angle and it went in. It happens.

We seem to be losing the body battles - maybe stay off the body and win with the stick and allow us to get the speed going. I just see us hit a body bounce off and lose the forward push. it's like slogging in the mud

This is how they play. They cant just change that on a whim. They dont have the personnel to accomplish it. Seattle just pressures the same way Vegas did to the Avs a few years back. Styles make fights and this is a style the Avs struggle with.

I like the way Wood works. I feel like he gives a good effort every shift.

Simple player, I've liked him, but Colton has to learn how to use him.

Colton has been a bit too north south for my liking. Looks like Matt Calvert at center. Yeah I love the energy, but he's gotta pull up, and think, control the play he's the center not the winger.

Both him and Ryjo are going to have an adjustment period in their own ways.

I will admit that Bo and G need to better, especially when paired together. But I also feel like our forwards need to do a better job supporting them. Even on that goal, Bo had a man, G had a man and the puck went to an open Seattle player. Our forwards need to wake up in our own zone and when the luck is turned over. The lazy line changes and not hustling back is getting old.
None of the centers are really that defensive aware and most of the wings aren’t either. I give some breaks to new guys getting used to things… but the support needs to improve. My issues with Byram aren’t support though… he’s just reading the play at a piss poor level.

I honestly don’t think G has looked that bad this year. Some struggles with size, but he’s actually been good. Byram has been dragging down the pairing thus far and he’s too good to be this bad.

I’d say that feeling like right before you get eaten by a lion or the feeling like you’re falling… that sheer terror? Also leads people to think their having a heart attack…or you left the coffee maker on at home
Yep. Like turning your flight or fight response up to 11, and not being able to shut it off. Luckily, I had all my worst attacks at home, and not while out and about, or while driving. I have a cousin that had an attack in rush hour traffic. She just stopped her car in the middle of the interstate and called her husband to come get her.

Byram is quickly playing himself out of town. It's all hype and he gives us a fraction of what was expected.
My last comment on this topic:

When Manson went down in previous years, G got moved to the right side and I swear we would read the same shit about G back then than what we're reading tonight about Byram.

These LHD suck ass on the right side, they need to stop playing there and play to their strength.

I feel like we're not going to see what we really have until 15 to 20 games in. Let's just hope we're good enough to weather that.

That’s how both Wood and Colton are. Simple hard hockey. They don’t throw a ton of skill out there and they never really will. Just not their games. Colton has a hell of a shot and he can play with more skill than Wood… but this is why these guys never took a step top top 6 roles.

I think somewhere around 4-7 we should have an idea. Then Bednar has to figure out the adjustments to make things work. Hope that doesn’t take 20 games.

He doesn't look like a center yet, but it's been a year. That's all I'm saying, and there is supposed to be underrated playmaking ability there. He's smart, but he's only showed it in his defensive reads so far.

I think out of our LDs, JJ would be the best on the right. His game doesn't really have to change much because he keeps it simple anyways.

Both G and Byram suck balls on the right. Toews has never played there for us as far as I know but he's Makars partner so it's a moot point anyways.
