I'm a bit bummed that Cloud Atlas didn't get a nomination, since it's by far the best movie of the year, but I could see why it wouldn't since it's a love-it-or-hate-it movie.

With it being Oscar Night, this thread should have really had a Movie themed title...the only thing I could think of was "Beverly Hills Cop 3: Axel Foley Outcoaches Joe Sacco"

And after seeing Argo on Friday, I understand the hype it's getting, it's a really good movie, tightly paced, and well done. Ben Affleck should have been nominated for a Best Director award, and that's why he'll win tonight imo.

Now on the subject of the AVS game tonight...I will put my Avatar up for ONE WEEK if anyone can correctly guess who scores the first Avs goal tonight, and I will put it up for TWO WEEKS (if you guess it on correctly on the dot) if someone can correctly guess the Hunwick TOI, gotta be like how you predicted it in the last GDT though, so a brief window and your final guess. If someone hits within the brief window, like last time, you'll only get One Week of controlling my Avy *just remember the Forum rules and keep it within them*
 
Hunny scores the Avs opening goal, 31 seconds into the game, deking past a forechecker before spinning around and unleashing a wicked wrister right past Giggy's head. He'll then drop the mic and walk off into the sunset, waiting until another team needs to tank but can't because their youngsters are breaking out.

In honor of Oscar night, I challenge anyone to find a movie title that best describes, or relates to the team.

I'll start with... "Eight Men Out" (1988)

In our situation, the eight men out should be: Kroenke(s), Sherman, Sacco, PL, ROB, Zanon, and Hunwick.

Duchene has a bounceback game and Hunwick continues to be our best dman working his trade value towards a 1st round pick.

My guess is that Barrie's -3 last game will lead to less ice time, leading to Hunwick playing more. I'll go with 22:00-22:29. Exact: 22:24

I have 0 interest in the oscar's never been interested. Having said that I thought Django had the potential to be great but they made it ridiculous, an the killed my favorite character way to early.

Silver linings was great because Jennifer lawrence was in it.

Eh, it's just five hours of my life I really want back, that's all. :laugh: I'm not really into musicals to begin with, but those who love this particular show whom I've talked to came away hating the film even more than I did.

Sorry if I'm holding you back, but it's for your own good! :nod:

Yeah, watch Zardoz if you want to see the very definition of "cult classic." So very many things that are so utterly ridiculous, yet the movie is so awesome. Any film that opens with a giant flying mechanical head burping out firearms and bellowing to a bunch of savages dressed in red bikinis "The gun is good, the penis is bad!" has WIN written all over it. :yo:

... and Ryan O'Reilly then proceeds to sign a bridge contract, EJ miraculously recovers from his concussion, Elliot scores a hatty, and Wilson rides off into the sun on a rainbow unicorn to save the motherland.

First, of all wtf HIr? I like the both deals but no defenders kind of sucks, still fair value IMO.
