While that's true, we have gotten some good signs over the years.

If he lays another egg we might get the casuals on board.
After this game non hockey fans should be aware of how embarrassing the avalanche goalie situation is. Any team set to play Colorado in the next few months has the be licking their lips at a potential 10 spot…on 15 shots

What are the cap implications of Georgie is waived?

Do we get any savings?

We should be able to trade him, obviously we can’t get anything for him, but we should be able to move him to a cap floor team if we attach a pick. Since this is his last year in his deal, hopefully the pick wouldn’t be too high.

After pulling him in his first 2 starts, and very early in this last one, they can’t send him back out there again.

Justus has also let in goals but he won’t be an issue at backup and still has a chance to get his shit together, Georgie is cooked.

I looked on cap wages and it looks like 2.2 mill of dead cap if we send him to minors.

That’s probably not enough of a savings, we need more for when guys come back later.

Looks like 1.4 dead cap if we buy him out. That’s a little better, but we really just need to move him.

I am sure they hope for a wonder... Otherwise our GM must get his ass going and find a capable NHL-Goaltender via trade when the rest of the league knows we are in desperate need of one to save this season all along....

This shitshow in net goes on for years now... To be honest, Kuemper wasnt the the rock back then either, but that team in 2022 was a juggernaut who stomped everything on its way and covered Kuemper. And still, Kuemper is way better than our current floaters... Let that sink in....

So, short: Yes, they really hope that Kahkonen can work some "magic".

Unfortunately, and imho, this will not work.

There is no way to solve this problem in net other than via trade. Thats my personal take.

There is certainly a way since guys like Kakohnen are not that different than guys like Adin Hill or Joey Daccord or quite honestly quite a few 'journeymen goalies' who end up - at one point, in the right stop with the right opportunity and end up making the most of it.

Obviously, there is more of a likelihood that it won't work and that they'll need to explore the trade market but you can't absolutely rule it out either that he won't make the most of an excellent opportunity - probably the best he's had since he's been in the league.

Yeah, and neither of our current goalies are going to be difficult to beat at this point. Although I'm starting to think Annunen is about as real as the Sun god Ra at this point.

The guy practicing is just an elaborate deep fake propaganda piece all of the Avs reporters have been strong armed into supporting, and Bednar really only has one option. Because there is no other good explanation for continuing to play a goalie the team has completely lost trust in. Public comments be damned
