I can't get a grip. This effort was embarrassing by our top players. And I pray that Lehky has some sort of minor injury. He looks god awful right now. We need him to play like he normally does. Even when he wasn't putting up goals, he was always the hardest worker and best forechecker on the ice. We need that Lehky back pronto.

Also, Manson still being injured and G missing games, while not even on the injury report has me worried as f***.

Didn't think I'd be saying this when the trades went down, but I'm actually happier that Coyle is the one under contract for next season and not Nelson.

Nelson just hasn't fit in at all yet. A little worrisome.

I think the hope is that Necas can be the actual driver on that line and that Nelson just provides a steady presence defensively and on the dot. I sure have seen a lot of plays die on his stick in the offensive zone though since he's arrived. It's worrisome.

Nelson had Vessey and Colton for linemates. Nelson has seen a parade of linemates. Kinda hard to develop chemistry. JB has got the blender going. Would you rather have Mitts back? Bruins beat the Canes 5-1. Mitts’ game stats, 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 points, 1 shot on goal.

Avs lost because they’ve shut down the intensity and urgency in their game waiting for the playoffs and the Blues have their intensity ramped all the way up. When the Avs found the intensity they scored three goals in a row and almost tied it.

Didn’t help that the idiot refs put them down 2-0 early against a defensive team with a blatant dive on the first shift and a missed call on Toews getting high sticked which led to the second goal.

Something that really bothers me about the Blues is that they seem to have an intentional strategy of diving to get power plays. Everyone on the team does it. Another thing they do is intentionally knock the sticks out of the oppositions hands. They did this at least three times in this game. Refs need to start calling it.

Val and Lehky look terrible right now. Esepcially Lehky. What is going on with him and the bad turnovers? He never does that. Toews and MacKinnon were pretty bad too.

Don’t like Blackwood’s low confidence look right now. The way he was looking up watching a replay after a goal the other game, his body language looked like Georgiev when he had no faith in himself. Had the puck bounce out of his glove the other game. Tonight he was too deep in his net for the first goal on the PP. A common sign of low confidence. He’s not making the big saves at key times any more either. Hopefully he wakes up for the playoffs like the rest of the team.

Charlie Coyle might have been the only bright spot in this one. Another good game flashing some skill from him. Colton and Wood pretty good games too. That was the Avs best line in this one.

I’m fine with them not having the intensity to win these regular season games that don’t mean much, but they HAVE to flip the switch in the playoffs of they’re gonna lose quick in the first round.
