I can see him signing in Minny even if he doesn't win the cup...he's not going back to Long Island, he turned down their final contract offer.

Coyle is signed at 5.25M next season, if Nelson walks Coyle will be our 2C.

I highly doubt they trade for another 2C next summer.
Necas should be our 2C next year, I hope they give him the chance.

Yeah, I think if he had to fill in at 2C you'd see more production. Wood and Colton both have been black holes offensively for a while.
That line looks much better when Colton is the only stupid one on it.
Coyle is what Colton was supposed to be, but a touch more expensive. Production will depend on the quality of linemates we're able to give him. Otherwise he does exactly what you want from a high end 3C.
5M for a good 3C is likely going to be common soon too.
I love that Coyle has made the playoffs every year of his career.

Without even moving any pieces, the club has nearly $9M in cap space and a roster that's close to full (11F/5D/2G).
I'm not saying it's an automatic that he's re-signed but they clearly have the means to do it.
That's like knowing if you have herpes today you'd have herpes tomorrow.
Having Coyle locked in for 2C isn't a good thing.
If Nelson walks they need another solution.
He could have easily said he wanted to go to Minnesota. We were his first choice.
It will heavily depend on how the playoffs go, and if he wants to win vs make the most money.
Does anyone really consider Minnesota a legit contender? Even with Nelson?
I do know this.. He likely won't make the most money staying here, but they can make a good contract offer that is front loaded.
I wonder if they do actually look towards Kadri if Nelson walks though.
I worry about the term of that contract and the amount.
Something about his game makes me think he won't age well. Might just be his look.

well I’ve shown my disdain of cmac, and I wasn’t exactly happy with trading Byram for Mittlejost and now Rantanen being gone, it’s kind of hard to support the team right now

Yeah losing Kadri might be the fumble they never recover from but it was nearly three years ago. What’s done is done.
Two things that have hampered this team more than anything else have been the loss of their two best two-way forwards, one hasn’t played a single game in three years, the other has almost single-handedly derailed TWO playoff runs with idiotic behavior. Ain’t no Kadri fixing that.

Agreed. If Nelson walks, they will look to improve again. It will happen in the summer if there is someone available, and if not, then at the trade deadline.

At least we don't have a some Jost/Newhook/Ritchie level prospect with potential that CMac can hold the spot open for.
I feel bad for you , i really do. We are forcing you to be a fan of a team that you dont want to support, that's almost inhuman on our part to do so. I feel ashamed that we are putting you through this against your will. I will try to find a solution to solve this situation, for you or any other fans who are in the same situation. Things like that shouldnt happend , we are not animals.
I the mean time i hope you will find the strength to forgive us for what we did over the years.
