  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Great to see Brock get two goals. Hopefully that boosts his confidence and he can get back to playing his game.

Looks like Lehky might have been the fixer again too. They moved Drouin up with Nate, and Lehky, and finally Necas with Nelson, and he scores two goals.

Lehky is the guy you put with someone who is overthinking the game, because he just goes out and does all the little things they're worried about doing, and they can just go out and play.
There's got to be an even better term than Swiss army knife for lehky.

Fluffer sexual references will fluff up everywhere lol

Lehky and nuke bring elements to a team looking for a cup. I’d compare it to a car. Them being the engine.

Yeah he gives his linemates confidence. :naughty:

Sorry I never grew out of my teenage sense of humor. It's like a Beavis and Butthead marathon running though my head sometimes.

It’s interesting to see that Nelson and Rantanen had identical stat lines through their first 7 games (2g+2a).

I think as Nelson finds his groove he’ll continue to contribute more on both sides of the ice
I can't remember if any forwards have echoed it I can remember several defensemen saying it really takes 20ish + games for it all to really start to gel.

Brock's been too good for too long to be too bad for very long.

[edit...JFC, how many "too"'s can i put in one sentence.

Now I wish we were allowed more characters on our license plates.

Rocking the hull number of my submarine on a soccer-mom's suv (Honda CRV) is just getting a bit embarrasing. Been trying to convince my wife that with global warming and all a BMW Z4 isn't really all that unrealistic of a car for Alaska moving forward.

Even tried to lean into her love of steampunk by showing her this:

Alas... I have to purchase her an International Scout, or a pre-85 Bronco first. My first response was, let's get all three!

Posted this in the Montreal GDT but I think it probably belongs here too.

Nelson has 3g + 1a in his last two games, which is great as getting him going is really important for this team. His lack of production was a source of concern before this roadtrip but he's quelled those concerns. In 8 games since the TDL he now has 3g + 3a for 6 points in 8 games. That's 31 goal and 62 point pace which is right where you'd expect him to be.

The way he's scoring his goals is encouraging too, as it's not just snipes off good looks (which you don't always get a lot of in the playoffs), but he's also scoring from smart hockey plays around the net with a tip-in against Ottawa and another deflection against Montreal. Not to mention the screen on Oettinger on Nichushkin's goal against Dallas.

The assist on Lindgren's goal was also a beauty: he first gets a good shot off, then after Lehkonen and Necas recover the puck Nelson finds the open ice and before even receiving the puck he knew where Lindgren was. He's clearly a very smart player in the OZ, and its no surprise that the goals are starting to go in.

The new-look 2nd line of Lehkonen-Nelson-Necas looked great for the second game in a row, as the xGF% bears out.
