He was on fire his first game, but am I the only one worried after his last few?
Seems he is on his ass more often than not.
Just 4 games in, but I was hoping for a bit more...
Hopefully some additional practice time will show something in the Stars game.
Nah, it’ll be a success or we string cmac up by his toenails, who am I kidding y’all will string him up regardlessHe was on fire his first game, but am I the only one worried after his last few?

well saidAre folks seriously worried about Brock already? I mean... not even a dozen games with the team. Heck, have they even practiced more than once since he arrived?
It just seems a bit pre-mature. Almost like we don't believe we can have nice things, so we look for the negatives constantly and overlook any positives.

Oh yeah, that's a primary characteristic of this group. The fact is he’s also hit 3 posts and that won’t continue. He will be scoring.
This is also his second professional team ever after spending 15 years with the Islanders.
We need some patience.
I would really like to see these lines but we all know it will never happen.I think a big part of that line playing so well the first game, and not as much after, is Val went from beast mode that first game, to human.
Hopefully they start to gel a little bit soon. They need a puck carrier though. Val's been doing a lot more than normal. He's been holding onto the puck in the O zone a lot too making plays. He barely ever held onto the puck before, unless he was driving the net.
Drouin can be the playmaker, but I'm not sure he quite has the speed to carry the puck most of the time on a line. It really needs Necas to be a rush line, but we all know they like Necas/Mikko to play with Nate.
I think that line can work again, it just needs to be more of a forechecking/cycle line, with less chances off the rush. Nelson has good rush chances numbers, but I'd bet a lot of that is just being the sniper.
Bedsy's probably filled Brock's head with all kinds of new systems too. First game he just played hockey. Now he's gotta think about what Bedsy wants him to do.
He's a perennial 20-30 goals scoring vet, he knows how to play hockey. If things don't click soon, I'd like Bedsy to tell him to just go out and play hockey again so this isn't going through his head every shift.

It's been a slow start for Nelson but he could easily have 3 goals right now. I think he's gripping his stick a little, he has 12 shot attempts (5v5) but only two have been on net. Part of that is because of all the posts he's hit.
Doing a lot of little things right, though. The screen on Nichushkin's goal last game was nice. But still waiting for the version we saw against Toronto to reemerge.
He sucks.Felt the same way about tonight's game. Nelson goes to the right areas but he's playing tentatively. Every time he gets the puck on his stick, he makes a touch pass to someone else half a second later. That's a little exaggerated but the point is he doesn't have the puck on his stick a lot. When Coyle was bumped up to 2C, he was carrying the puck and driving the play. Nelson still isn't playing with that level of confidence. Had the one great chance tonight though.
At the very least the man needs to start winning puck battles.
