Mittelstadt looks like he's doing all he can to just try and keep up skating wise. Every ounce of effort goes into that and he has nothing left for any other part of his game. Just feels like he's chasing all the time.

I think the biggest problem is Bednar wearing down MacK and Makar. When we were scoring at will earlier this season, those two were unstoppable. Makar still looks pretty good, but not on fire like he was. And MacK is 29 now, he hasn't lost a step, but he just doesn't have as many steps anymore. Need to cut his minutes by 4ish a night.

It really does feel this way. He looks like he's exerting every last ounce of energy and thought he has into getting his legs moving.

I don't know what happened from last playoffs and the start of this season but he looks like a completely different player. I know you're going to have ups and downs with 2nd-4th liners, that's why they're not stars but this guy has been genuinely awful for almost two full months now. That's more than a "slump" he's going through. He brings his linemates down, too.

When Drouin returns, I'm wondering if we don't see
