I totally agree with this. When Annunen had his little run earlier, it was mostly because the team was playing better in front of him. For whatever reason, they are just distracted when George is in there.

he at least did not defend Georgiev — and he’s not wrong that they were poor at the start. I’m not sure he’s at liberty to come out and say “40 was trash again; as you can see based on the immediate spike in effort level, the team is tired of his shit”

They don't trust George at all and when you know every mistake costs you, it's tough to play well. Too much pressure to play perfectly.

Yeah, it’s probably because they are thinking even if we play hard, one mistake is gonna end up in our net because Georgiev is not making saves, so they just don’t even wanna try when he’s in net

Depth, including the defense, came up big in this one as well. Girard was one of the guys who really stepped up from the backend.

I get ya buddy, but the team did stink too. I’m hoping that he says the right things to protect his guys while also doing the right thing and playing the deserving guy… which is Wedgewood. Let’s see how he handles these next few starts.

The team played like crap in the first but that happens when you lack confidence in the guy between the pipes. This Avs team is still quite good but no team in this league will get anywhere with your starter at .875. There’s a big disconnect between the guys and George right now and it’s sinking the ship. This might be the time to just drop him to the ahl and take another guy off the goalie market and see what happens
