That was a weak GWG on Shesty in all fairness.

I dont think this game was as bad as y'all are making it out to be honestly. 5 on 5 shot attempts were 52-36 Avs. Scoring Chances 23-18 Avs. High Danger 12-9 Rangers.

Overall the Avs were the better team at 5 on 5. There's definitely something to be said about the lack of high danger chances though. Feels like they simply aren't going to the dirty areas nearly enough right now(One of the areas missing Nuke hurts so much for sure).

And there's probably something to be said about us being too predictable at 5on5, feels like that's quite a few games lately where the other team has blocked a lot of shots which suggests teams are reading what we're doing and having an easy time to get into the lanes.

But the possession game is still present for us, we're still controlling the puck a lot. Just need to find some creativity offensively again, or quite frankly simplify things to the purest level. Put pucks on net and go to work on the rebounds and greasy stuff instead of over passing especially if teams are reading the passes well.

PP is a complete disaster though. That's an area that needs major work but it also isn't just on the coaches. A lot of brain dead decisions, and lazy play from the likes of Mack and Mikko in particular with the extra man.

Blackwood. Another 2 goals or less game and this was no easy game. He came up huge many times before OT and then killed off the penalty and robbed Zibby on a breakaway. This is the kind of goaltending this team has been starved for since Varly left.

He doesn't have a choice.

His alternatives were De Haan, Middleton, or Malinski
Play Kivi on D f*** it.

Regular season Darcy got close to this at times. But his game fell off in the playoffs for obvious reasons.

LOC on that shift. Beats 2 Rags behind the net for the puck (Zibby and Fox) and dishes the puck to Toews. Afterwards, beats Zibby again and this time also a lunging Breadman while dishing the puck over to MacK and the rest is history. LOC single handedly on that shift diddled all 3 of those Rags players and created the space needed for the beauty Finnish from MacK to Toews.

It was truly a ridiculous effort. That shift should just be played on repeat for their entire next film study.

First 5 mins of the game Rangers were horrendous. The Avs took that tape and copied it for the rest of regulation. Turnovers and shit puck management.

Blackie saved us. First star by a mile for me.

While our PP is awful somehow we excel 6vs5 and who else but mr clutch Lehky ties it.

Then LOC decides to put the hammer down and take the team on his back. Absolute monster shift in OT to force game.

Always an awesome thing to grind and find wins on bad nights but they need to be better collectively soon.
