If Kerfoot can stick in the NHL so can Mitts.
Mitts didn't just suddenly stop hockeying. Something happened here between his ears. My personal opinion is the weight of a being counted on as 2C for a team with Cup aspirations was heavy. At some point the pace his wingers were pushing was on a different level than what he was playing. There just seemed to be a disconnect.

That being said, his skill is undeniable. If the dude can find a place that plays a slower pace or just finds that way to slow the game down in his own mind, he still has the chance at a reallly good career.

I'm disappointed things didn't work here. I still wish him all the best though. I never saw him give up even when struggling. That counts for a lot to me.

[Edit... Honestly... Torts would probably be one hell of a coach for the kid if he's willing to deal with the bluntness and put in the work. Torts has helped kids like Lecavalier, Nash and even Bread. Gaborik was another story all-together. I'd like to think Mitts has it in him to still elevate and move forwards.]

What I've seen with these line projections (assuming everyone is healthy, which is usually pretty rare), Kiviranta is constantly marked as an extra attacker.
We like kirviranta but he went a really long stretch without scoring. Most avs fans me included wanted more offense coming from our depth. It’s nothing against his Finnish roots

Question: Playing one of the most lethal offensive teams in the world, "one" goal down, almost 3 minutes to go - you pull your goalie, and go on to get destroyed. Is the Leafs coach really that dopey?

No but I dont know how we're gonna get rid of him in the summer either.

Maybe with the cap rising some plug team will take him on to add veteran leadership and help them get to the floor!

Was really hoping CMac could convince Lou he'd be the type of guy to add to the Islanders lineup.
I think they’ll be able to move him in the offseason. Might take some finagling but it can be done. And teams always love a gritty forward, or at least someone with the rep of a gritty forward.

Val is building us up to go on an absolute bender mid playoff series against Dallas.

I really hope he’s got his issues settled, because he makes this team so much better. The guy is a force and you can see some chemistry right away with Brock.

By the way, MacK was pumped postgame. You can tell he thinks they have something special with the new additions.
