GDT: Avalanche vs Bles Saturday 03/29/25 @2:30 PM MNT (Emergency GDT) They're hot, we're hot, everybody's hot. But we're also snow.

Not mad about that loss. St. Louis—as Moser accurately pointed out—had sticks EVERYWHERE. Really maddening when they just kept knocking pucks out of midair.

If I had a criticism of the Avs it was the fact that they could not hit the f***ing net today. Colton is especially guilty of this and he actually played okay…outside of that really stupid penalty.

Didn’t quite bring the intensity they had against the Kings but again, I didn’t think they were bad. The winger shuffle was odd, I guess Bednar wanted one “big” line, but I’m a little surprised he didn’t break out the Blendar if he was being experimental.

Wood’s best game in a looooooong while.

He said post-TDL he was going to be experimenting so it makes sense to see him do it but man I hope come playoff time he isn't doing stupid stuff like this and uses the lines that work.
Or don't make these changes in an important game like this. Or if you do, and it doesn't work, revert to what works.

Agree with everything in Richard's post. The only thing I might add is that I think in 2022 we basically had the division and home ice locked. Right now I know home ice is still a possibility but I think the team is more then content just staying healthy and getting to the playoffs. Stars are inevitable at this point. Just stay healthy and be ready for the series of our lives.

For comparison...

The 2022 Avs went 14-1-1 in games 60-75, and finished off the season 1-5-1 before going 16-4 in the playoffs.

This seasons Avs have gone 12-2-1 in games 60-74.

Nobody should be getting worked up about losses at this point in the season with the playoff seeding all but decided. The one and ONLY thing that really matters is that there were no injuries today.

I don't think anyone is super worked up about a loss. What pisses me off is how the game unfolded. The refs put it on a platter for St Louis in the 3rd, it was not the Avs playing good or bad. The refs dictated the 3rd period and that's just garbage.

Things might get a little dicey to end the season if the Avs lose again to the Blues on Saturday and lose their game in hand. Not out of the woods yet for a wild card spot.

And that's why Canes didn't mind trading Necas. Piece of trash level of Edmonton Oilers junior hockey nonsense level of turnover.

And of course Montgomery/DeBoer gets another one on Bednar. It's like Avs go into post mode when playing against Blues and Stars. So so frustrating.

Honestly a wild card isn't that bad. Winnipeg and or Vegas. Honestly might be better matchup than Dallas.

At end of the day it doesn't really who we play, the only options are good teams as the road team.

I'm pissed but only because it's against TrashBin and the Blues. I could careless if we lost this game to the Ducks or someone else. There's some teams Avs simply need to beat regardless of form; Blues, Wild, Red Wings, Stars, Oilers, Canucks, and Leafs. It's like futbol derbies, I would rather lose 60 games to everyone else but win both legs against each team I mentioned.

But then we can't bounce Dallas in the first round :(
Sure. At the end of the day standings don't matter much.

The Avs are in a position where no matter what they are going to be the road team against a really good team.

I think we'd all like to beat Dallas, but I could care less who we play. Going to have to bring the lunch pail and the A game to get past the first round.

Lol. Guy has had what, two or three bad games since the trade and you're saying that's why the Hurricanes could justify trading the guy who would be leading their team in scoring?

Nonsense. Just like the nonsense of "Wedgewood is our starting goalie" you've been spouting the last few weeks.

We are 10ish games from the playoffs. Losing to one of the hottest teams in the league, sucks. It sucks even more, when it's the bloose.

f*** everyone saying this was a meaningless game, and that it's not that bad that we lost.

It sucks.
I prefer valuable losses like that over coasting to the playoffs with undeserved wins.

What?

This is one of the most frustrating losses of the season. Are you kidding me?
We only lost by one, had tons of chances to score just got unlucky on some of the chances and Binnington made some big saves.

Blues are more desperate team as they’re trying to hold on to a wildcard spot, while the Avs are pretty much set as the 3rd seed in central. Don’t think we’re catching Dallas, or Wild catching us.

For the people complaining about reffing, what calls do you think were bad or missed?

Avs 1st penalty: Drury puts it over the glass. No argument.

Avs 2nd penalty: Colton retaliates because he didn’t like Sundqvist nailing him behind the Blues net… cleanly. Stupid play from Colton in a tie game. No argument.

Avs 3rd penalty: Bad call. MacKinnon didn’t trip and only tied up the stick, dude tripped over his own stick.

Avs 4th penalty: Malinski slashed and high-sticked the player in the space of 2 seconds. No argument.

Missed call: Lindgren was elbowed in the head by Bolduc. Should have been a penalty.

So… 1 bad call against us and 1 missed call.

That’s enough to say the refs gave this game to the Blues? Ridiculous. They didn’t even score on those three power plays in the third period. It was Necas with a bad turnover and missed coverage on the winning goal.

The Blues played playoff hockey. We were frustrated and our shooting was awful. Binnington was also great.

The refs had nothing to do with the outcome of this game.

I’m so sick of us crying about refereeing every time we lose. It’s pathetic.

AVS need to do something about the post shots. Way too effin many the last two weeks.
Last two weeks? It's been all f***ing year. Not sure what these guys are looking at while shooting, but they fine tune every single shot.

Got to stop hitting the post if they want any chance in the playoffs. Can't hit the post on the good looks it's going to burn you.

105 or some ridiculous number is simply too many posts. Figure your shit out and get that puck in the net.

Yup. Same thing. I hate blaming the refs unless its like Canada vs USA womens gold medal 2002 and Canada still won. Maybe dont turn shit over and lose your man going to the net. Maybe focus on that shit.
