I think advances have been made, but with certain Cancers. They saved my father in law, and six months later I watched him starve to death having it spread from the Pacreas to the colon while raising my newborn daughter in their house so they could have her around as a distraction. It's ugly, but "Cancer" alone doesn't describe how many different types there are and how difficult each is to fight medically.

They save a lot more people than they used to.
Deep props to anyone who has been a caregiver. Unless one has lived it... anyway... salute to you.

for real. Was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) about 18 months ago. Had a good chunk of my right kidney removed. Just had my first annual check up. No sign of it yet.

That being said, the worst part about not knowing if it will come back or thinking about it showing up and going terminal hasn’t ever scared me for my own life. It’s how it would affect everyone else. Care givers and the families of those who have cancer are the real hero’s in my opinion.
