Captain Cale.
Was imo cheated out of that disallowed goal, as that was never an interference on a goalie by Drouin. Sure, he had one leg in the goal crease, but was not impending goalie´s movement or somehow pushing him. I am pretty sure i have seen similar goals against us stand. Its fecking BS.

Nuke was much better last night than his first game back. With that said I don't expect him to be back to the elite player he was. If he does I will seriously believe he is back using the white powder. I do expect him to be good enough to help a lot in the top-6 though. It might take another game or two.

I'm a bit lost on that call as well. I've not read the whole thread, so forgive me if this was discussed.

Consistency is all I ask of NHL officials. By the letter of the law, Drouin interfered because he did not give the entirety of the crease to the goalie. That said, I have seen - this year alone - 4 reviews where that was not called Goaltender Interference. One was an Avs game, I think.

Frankly, I would prefer it to be called as it was on Drouin; Nobody ever goes in the blue ice at all, ever. It is a simple review. But the NHL is not enforcing that mandate consistently. So what was the issue last night? Was it the fact that both feet were in? The fact that the goalie pushed forward, initiating contact while Drouin was in the blue? Or did the officials decide that today was the day they would opt to follow the rule book for the first time all season?

I was ok with the GI call. Drouin was in the blue paint directly in front of the goalie so he did have an impact on the goal. If he was in the blue paint but to the side it would have been called a good goal.

I know some people are saying this half serious or even serious. That obviously because Nuke is clean now he sucks vs when he was all powdered up.

Let's wait a few weeks, he hasn't played since April lol.

I never said he sucks when he is clean. I have been saying a few times in the past that he has yet to prove he can be as good clean vs when he is not. I am deadly serious about that. Can he still be an important player for us? Absolutely. There are a lot of positives that Nuke brings to this team compared to the replacement players we had in the top-6 since the beginning of the season. Just his front net presence alone is monumental to this team and he can provide that even if he is clean.

For the record I DO want him to prove me wrong about the player he can be when clean. But until then I will always have concerned. I was a huge fan of the player and I still hope he can get his shit together and keep it that way. However he is making it very hard on the fans to forgive him. Being clean and very good throughout the rest of the season including the entire playoffs will go a long way towards that.

Saw him sitting on the bench after an early shift looking winded. Even though he's been training it's gonna take a while for him to get his legs back. I certainly wasn't expecting him to hit the ground running, he usually takes a few games after returning from a lengthy absence, be it injury or a suspension.

If they called it because he was in the paint, okay, that appears to be the standard now. If they called it because they think he moved to physically impede Kolosov, then that's a bad call since the contact was initiated by Ristolainen.

I think contact was initiated by Ristolainen but because Drouin's leg was already in the blue paint, that contact resulted in contact with Kolosov. If he wasn't in the blue paint, he likely doesn't impede Kolosov.

I was ok with the call. Drouin has to be more aware of his surroundings and where he is on the ice in that situation.

My favorite part of the game was seeing Sammy mash Ristolainen into the boards.

And this might be a hot take, I don't care; apart from his ridiculously careless turnover early in the game...Kylington was fine. He was most certainly better than Manson, who was utter horseshit last night.

I think Manson was rattled after hurting the ref as badly as he did.

Team looked dangerous at times but over all I hope they have much more to bring. Once Philly started going in the 3rd they had zero pushback. They're pretty much healthy now and should be able to beat a team like Philly handedly. Lots of work to do to get in a division playoff spot.

Thoughts:

- Good to hear the ref is alright
- No that was not goalie interference, go away
- Malinski is garbage and you will not convince me otherwise
- I assume Girard got some of Nuke's stash and that's why he's dumping guys a foot taller than him to the ice, more please
- I didn't realise EJ was married, I just assumed him and Landeskog were a thing. Nice dogs though
- Actually a big fan of the Flyers coaches in hoodies
- Good thing Makar is playing the way he is because MacKinnon's in a bit of a slump

Weird game. That Flyers jersey really is terrible as well.

I was shocked as well to see that he was married. He's super private about that.

Watch Nuke from the first round last year against Winnipeg.

That was prime, cocaine fuelled Nuke. 45 second shifts of just terrorizing opponents defensively and absolutely steamrolling everybody offensively.
IMO he’s looked bad. But it’s to be expected. Avs should’ve dealt with this already.. like Rants and George. All of them will bite the Avs in the ass for being too slow
