So, all the bridges around me to anywhere are either destroyed or closed because they are at risk of being destroyed.

Just sitting on my porch and enjoying the lull in the rain. Still very windy.

Here is some pictures:

PS: All the people stranded on this hospital were airlifted to safety.

It's crazy to me how a storm system that landed in Florida caused all this damage in North Carolina and Tennessee. Glad you are safe.

This was posted by a local popular Nashville reporter:

UPDATE: I JUST HEARD FROM TENNESSEE HIGHWAY PATROL.
They flagged my post and have shared it with authorities in North Carolina to check out.
EVERYONE WORKING TOGETHER.

MANY STILL NEED HELP.
Several of you have shared posts with me about people stranded by the flood.
I want to try to help.
Some have been rescued.
Others not.

PLEASE READ - HELP IS NEEDED
This is a post I never imagined writing in all
of my life.
We are now in desperate need of help and I hope someone can.
Does anyone have any leads or information to private aviation - specifically helicopters.
I need to get my family, dogs included, off this mountain.
My family - my husband and I, our 4-year-old son and 2 doodle dogs - are in Eagles Nest, in Banner Elk, NC.
We are in an Airbnb by the Sportmans Lodge and up towards winery.
There are also 2 helipads here.
We are trapped with no way out - even if they clear the 6 miles to the main gate.
It has been confirmed that Banner Elk is now only accessible by air.
We are without power, internet, limited cell service and no water since Friday morning.
We have only a day or two of food left.
This storm was the most terrifying thing I have ever been through in my life - 60+ mph winds for hours, the house shaking, and flood/tornado alerts throughout the night.
—-
I have tried contacting this family without success.
I am in Nashville, but hopefully some first responders in the area see this and can help.
I’ll keep working it.

The area I am in is now isolated. We've lost several bridges and the ones holding are in threat from the water and debris so they are keeping away. Water pumps are destroyed so the city is down to reserves. Mayor is closing all non essential businesses and telling people to conserve water, stay home, keep off the roads. Local hospital is being evacuated west due to clean water shortages. All dams have held, but they are being monitored like a hawk and people kept far away from possible flood areas if they do go.
9pm curfew in effect for most of all east TN

People are now saying that we may be without water for a week.

So sorry, that is terrible! Hope you are able to get necessary supplies soon. It's going to take a long time for that area to get back to any sense of normalcy.

Stay safe! Praying for everyone down there. And I hope all the dams hold. 🙏

We finally heard from our employee in Valdosta. She’s safe! She says there’s immense damage in her area. All of our employees are ok so far. We had over 200 in the impacted areas.

My uncle has no power and lost trees and landscaping but he and my aunt are ok. They are in Greenville, SC, 2 hours south of Asheville, NC.

Seeing the horrific images in so many areas but especially in TN and NC is a sobering reminder not to take everything we have for granted.

@AngryMilkcrates please stay safe and let us know how we can help! Thinking of you and everyone out there. ❤️

There is so much sorrow in the world. Just a little story about how easy it is to create some joy.

We walked our favourite trail yesterday and met an older gentleman. We stopped to chat and he told us what a wonderful day it was, how he was going to have a turkey dinner at a favourite restaurant, talked about local produce stands, where he used to live, etc. After about 15 mins, he said thank you to us for interacting with him, that he is alone at home now and appreciates us taking a few mins to talk to him. What a wonderful person!

Respect our elders, they are treasures.
