I don't get the flip Matthews with Eichel and Barkov and Vegas and Florida still win the cup argument , everybody and their grandmother knows that's not true , Matthews has gotten clamped and put in a shoebox by 2nd line centers in the playoffs his whole career. He would certainly look like a bum in the playoffs on those teams as well , also are we acting like the leafs haven't had the horses to win all those series they lost?

The Leafs have never had goaltending even approaching those teams until this season. Matthews has also shown up huge in elimination games in recent memory.

The problem with the Leafs is they have never put it all together. Always a few things clicking, never everything.

Take Eichel out of Vegas and he doesn't win shit. He was traded into a situation where his new team was firing on all cylinders.

if he was in Buffalo still I doubt people would have viewed him how he is now.

I dont think anything ever changes in Toronto. they just find ways to lose and this is going back even before Matthews was drafted, I get it was only the 2013 series but I dunno how you fall apart like that.

Can't be worse than the 2021 series...

losing to MTL made me lose faith in this group. lol they are what they are. not sure exactly what changes Id have made but I would have likely broken up the 4 of them
