If he wasn't the best player this series, he's at least right up there with Reilly and Samsonov.

For the kind of money he is being paid, I expect a Tkachuk / McDavid / Drai type performance and we have NOT gotten that - not even close.

Bob has his number so far. He's gotten some good looks but Bobrovsky has been able to do just enough to keep him off the scoresheet.

Win or lose, Draisaitl has been putting up Matthews Game 4 level offense and better every night in the playoffs. If he can’t put the team on his back again, and for multiple games, the season is running down.

Compare Matthews body of work and game to game results vs a comparable like Leon Draisaitl. Draisaitl has more goals scored than Matthews has points and has a Matthews Game 4 TB hero night virtually every Oiler game. Where did that star power factor go?

Funny, its almost like Florida is putting all its effort into shutting down the Matthews and Marner line. How about other lines start contributing? I find it quite an issue that the expectation is only 1 line is responsible for all the offense when in the playoffs they are being hard focused and should be giving others an opportunity.

So you’re ok with how he’s played so far? You don’t expect him and Marner our 2 best players to be better? There is zero excuse for them to be this bad..let’s see what he does in this 3rd

Yeah I was about to say this is the 5th straight game with only two goals now and Matthews has had atleast a point in every game except this one, that can't fall on one line, especially when Marner and Matthews already have 12 and 11 points. That said, do they need to score right now? Yes, but so does literally anyone on our team

Other lines especially the 4th & 3rd lines have looked a lot better than the first line. Nylander has played well as well. Marner-Matthews have been hemmed in a lot, Marner brutal giveaways. They need to create more. It’s nonsense to suggest other lines haven’t played well enough.
