Marner is a faux defensive/offensive player.
He refuses to go into the dirty areas, you have to battle to get the puck out for him, so he can make a pass to you.

And, when the game gets intense, Marner floats on the outside, he's whole game is dependent on a strong finisher and puck battler like Matthews/Knies.

No wonder McDavid got pissed off at Marner.
He sits there like a princess waiting to be fed with a gold spoon, he doesn't go down low and make plays, just sits up high on his horse.

Lol bit extreme but he is a player that needs specific players to bring out his best I like independent players that produce no matter who they play with much better tbh I feel like you should be paid to how independently you produce cause if you need specific players it drives the cap up….that’s another reason why I have them ranked Matthews Nylander marner and Knies is on his heels this playoffs

I only disagree because I think Matthews is picking up a heck of a lot of slack while Marner is playing rover or whatever the heck hybrid winger nonsense.

My challenge is when Matthews and Marner are on the ice, watch who is actually doing the work. I bet you will start to see the patterns of Marner quick touches and a lot of bailing on plays. Then consider who is actually dictating the momentum.

Did you see how he had a chance to keep the puck hemmed in FLA's zone (before goalie pull).

Instead, he simply threw the puck back to FLA's D on purpose, proceeded to skate back into his own zone, than, turned the puck over 4 times in the next 2 minutes.
I'm surprised FLA didn't score.
