All of the RFA re-signings under Blake have been pretty damn good, no overpayments and no handcuffing deals. This also increases Walker’s value should he get better. I see him being a Tom Preissing like dman (when Preissing was useful).

Walker is a helluva lot better than Preissing! I'd say he's a really good 5th D-man on a contender

That's exactly what Preissing was on Ottawa, like I said when he was useful.

Preissing was Ottawa's highest scoring defenseman in 2007, when they reached the Cup Final, and he was a +40, highest among Sens dmen, but he was behind Redden, Phillips, Volchenkov and Meszaros on their blueline depth chart.

If Walker reaches those numbers, I don't think anybody would be complaining.

If Walker and Roy can mimic Martinez and Muzzin in terms of career trajectory, that would be an absolute victory for LA.

When you consider the premium of being able to play on the right side, massive win.

I know Martinez could play both sides, but you get the point.
