Now do a hypothetical one if Detroit made it

Would they be loud?

Oh absolutely. They wouldn’t capture the attention of the city the way Lions are currently but Little Caesars Arena for the first playoffs since 2016? Absolutely deafening. Frenzied crowd reaction to every Wings goal.

When I started following hockey the Wings were THE team. And were for years and years and years. Looking through their long franchise history, Detroit seems to be either *really* good or *really* bad. Rarely are there in-between seasons lol.

This is a REAL hockey crowd decibel reading👏

None of that putting-their-db-reader-by-the-goal-horn-and-claiming-their-crowd-is-130+dB shit like some others do.
I went to the Bolts / Sabres game a few weeks back.

The noise-o-meter goes up to 10.

We started off “poor” and near the end of the game made it to 10!

Baffles me what the metric even is for that

Crowd isnt terrible overall, just in a lot of games.

The problem is the game sucks.

We want more pps this change in officiating is bad.

Now you have players diving and embellishing like crazy and there's uptick in high-end skill.

So you have a game with the same skill, no animosity and people wonder why the crowds aren't great.

So far today the crowds are 0/2 on being in it.

Wild fans are trying. Maybe just too much anxiety being a use game.

Ive been watching the local feed for the Wild game, but decided to switch to TNT just for the heck of it. There is a MAJOR difference in audio. TNT has the arena sound way more muted. It feels like the mics are turned up on the commentators. The FDNorth feed is much more balanced and clear between both the announcers and arena sounds. Even the volume of the music in the arena seems muted on the national feed. Really surprised by the difference. Why would TNT do that?

Not really sure why they think it’s a good idea. I’ve noticed the same thing between watching the Bolts games on FDSun then the TNT/ESPN feeds of all the other games.

Rogers let go a bunch of experienced techs when they took over HNIC and I’m not sure any jumped ship from TSN. Games have not quite sounded right ever since

I was at the Bell Centre last night. I can't talk today.

We are by far the loudest in the league and it shows even through the TV feeds but it's still not even close to the real thing. TNT and Sportnet are blocking some of the crowd noise. If you watch the French RDS crew, they have a better balance than the other feeds. It helps that one of Pierre Houde close friend is their Sound Technician. Pierre is an Artist of his work and he knows what people likes, want and the passion that the crowd can bring. One of the reasons why people prefer RDS over TVA by a mile.

I watched the game today and it's not even close to what it was in real time. There was a total of 15seconds in the whole game that the place went '' silent '' and it's 5seconds after every Caps goals. We were chanting the Go Habs Go right back. In other words, blame it on the producers telling their Sound Tech to reduce the crowd noise so we can hear the announcer better.

I'd 100% watch a game without any announcer and just crowd noise instead, it's so much better.

Zero hate, almost no big hits, very little physicality, league wanted to protect players but it took great deal of emotions out of the game, it’s not surprising that fans are now less emotionally invested also, I don’t want to see players get hurt but I seriously missed playoffs from 15years ago, I think at some point league in pursuit of player’s safety just went too far and killed critical component of the game

...you need to check either your feed or mute button...that Bell Centre crowd last night was batshyte...

Down here in the US, both TNT and ESPN are using crappy audio mixing and you can’t hear much of the crowd. It’s been quite a difference watching Bolts games on FDSun. I have no doubt in my mind that the Bell Centre was bedlam last night, and I believe the people who have posted that it was who were at the game, but I couldn’t tell that at all from watching the game on TV last night.
