Nobody is tanking to play us. If Florida beats us Tuesday and we lose to Tzb. TB is in a great position to win the division.Panthers obviously tanking for us. Hopefully karma will get them.

No matter who we play, a convincing 4-game or 5-game round 1 win would do wonders for everyone's confidence.
You're either overthinking this or obfuscating. It's not the question...
Did the team playing the same way, with the same confidence right now with Woll than when they playing in front of Woll?
Definitely not. Anyone who thinks that is overthinking things.Florida's tanking could have them in a position to play Tampa Bay if Ottawa keeps up their play.
And no, I dont seriously think Florida is tanking intentionally.
This is 1,000% the most important thing - frankly, far more important than winning the division. And health.
I don't honestly know if it is that much better to me. It's just different, it's like being openly cockblocked vs being completely ignored, they both suck. This is all I hope for.
Sadly because of their playoff failures a lot have become hardened and can't see that they have been one of the most successful cores in franchise history.
Perennial 100 point playoff team that loses in Game 7 every year. It is frustrating as hell but better than it was. They hold the current record for most consecutive playoff appearances which is hard to do in a hard cap world.
Just finish the job one time so we can appreciate this.
Indeed, I've been singing that song for years. I mean I'd love to win the division, but I'd much rather be healthy, well rested and perhaps most important, mentally ready to go to war when the playoffs start. This is 1,000% the most important thing - frankly, far more important than winning the division.

If goaltending is better and rest of the team is worse, that's all that matters so the answer to your question is obviously who cares? If the team has more confidence or less confidence and it doesn't translate into results on the ice, who cares?
Personally, I would start resting guys now, just as Florida did today.Indeed, I've been singing that song for years. I mean I'd love to win the division, but I'd much rather be healthy, well rested and perhaps most important, mentally ready to go to war when the playoffs start.
I wouldn't get carried away resting guys just yet. And f*** Marner going for 100, that's the last thing anyone should be thinking about, especially money Mitch himself.Rest Matthews, Knies, JT, Willy, Tanev on Tuesday. Marner wants to go for 100, so let him. Having said that, I don't know who we can recall to replace those guys for the game so I don't know if it's realistic to rest all those guys at once.

I believe this conversation started with you making excuses for how badly the Leafs played in game 3 against Florida. This doesn't seem relevant to where we started so ...last 3 game of Woll 1-1-1
3,67 GF 3,33 GA + 0,34
SCF 27,3 SCA 31
HDCF 11,7 HDCA 12
VS Sj
Stolarz last 5 5-0-0
4,2 GF 1,8GA
SCF 24,2 SCA 26,2
HDCF 10,2 HDCA 10,2
For me stats just showing what i personally saw in those game. Leafs was playing a more structured game and with more confidence with Stolarz as goalie
They got less scoring chance and HDC both for and against with Stolarz... they scored more goal with Stolarz ( even with less scoring chance, they just convert at a better rate) and allowed basically 2X less goal and the most important, they won every Stolarz start and lost 2 of 3 Woll start.
No, rest Marner until the playoffs. I want to watch the Marner fan boys lose their minds when I say he still hasn’t had a 100 point season. LolRest Matthews, Knies, JT, Willy, Tanev on Tuesday. Oh I see, that makes some sense. I'm not with the guys day to day so not sure who needs the rest, Tanev and Rielly are the first ones that come to mind, then maybe OEL and JT, possibly McCabe? I still want to win Tuesday though so still not sure I'd rest anyone just yet. You're absolutely right. Just thinking about how the game against TB becomes the bigger one, and I'd like our team to be as fresh as possible for that one.

Let him play the last game. Tell him you need 6 points for 100, I know you can do it, show the world what you can do.No, rest Marner until the playoffs. I want to watch the Marner fan boys lose their minds when I say he still hasn’t had a 100 point season. Lol
I don't care what points or goals total a player wants to get to, they need rest before the playoffs start.Rest Matthews, Knies, JT, Willy, Tanev on Tuesday. Marner wants to go for 100, so let him. Sigh. Of course it can, but how a goalie plays is no excuse for the rest of the team to suck. You seem to think it's a valid excuse, I do not. I think that about sums it up, agree to disagree. Cheers. It's the same exact discussion... About how goaltending can drastically change the result of a game...
