it was clear as Day last year Boston did the same thing to face us in round 1, I Remember posting about it last year, they were playing like trash
Are they so injured that this rest is a necessity, or are they resting because they don't care about seeding and they're players could just use it?
We've no idea just how severe Florida's injuries are. It's a big gamble to take against the reigning Cup Champs and a team that has had our number the past couple of years.
Not that we have much of a choice. I suppose the Leafs could tank and hope Tampa passes us if Florida is going to keep f***ing about. Then we'd get Ottawa in the 2-3 matchup instead of the 1-WC.
Whatever. f*** 'em. Just keep winning and face whoever when the time comes.
some how all these injuries Florida has will be gone, I know Ekblad will be out for game 1 and 2 due to his suspensionIf this doesn't light a fire under Leafs brass' asses and piss them off I don't know what will.
We’re gonna play Florida. Ottawa will pass them in the division.
Maurice has a soft spot in his heart for usFlorida down 2-0 and looking terrible. Has a team ever sat this many players to tank for a first round matchup before?
The seedings aren’t even set, Tampa could still win the division.Ottawa isn't in the business of screwing around with seeding when they're trying to make the playoffs for the first time in 8 years. They don't care at all about who they face. They're in "just win" mode. Everything after clinching is just gravy.
Florida we've seen be able to turn it on whenever they want/need to. They can afford to fool around with seeding.
Well if I were them I’d rather play us than TampaThe Panthers are tanking just to get the Leafs.
Or at least that's what I'd write on the Leaf's white board before game 1 if I was Berube.
Which team wouldn’t rather play the Leafs?Well if I were them I’d rather play us than Tampa
It’s another round, more cash makes for happy ownersWhy does it matter to Florida anyway? It's only 1 round out of 4. Even if they face us in the first round, they would have to face TB in the 2nd round most likely anyway. It's so silly.
It's not as if this team needs any more motivation come playoffs.and just like that redwings are up 2-0
hopefully the buds look at this and take it "personally" florida tanking on purpose while ottawa up 3-0 on CBJ

There's a very good reason for that.Which team wouldn’t rather play the Leafs?

all I know if I took his Advice and put it into betting, I would be homeless in a hurry lol@Evilhomer Predicted Columbus would beat Ottawa tonight.
3-0 Ottawa
Predicted that Detroit would beat Florida.
2-0 Detroit.
..... If I was surprised at these outcomes, I would say something. LMFAO.
First round matchups are pretty important, the hear lightning lost to Avs in the finals point was taken out by Justin holl in game 7 and he didn’t come back until the finals. Why does it matter to Florida anyway? Yet one is only angling for it, apparentlyThere's a very good reason for that.
You mean the way they played against SJ?So you don't see any difference in how leafs playing in front of Stolarz or Woll right now?
I thought Columbus might show up against Ottawa, but clearly not. Florida has pretty much liquidated their lineup, but I still thought they would beat Detroit. Anyway, shouldn't you be happy that Florida is losing again?@Evilhomer Predicted Columbus would beat Ottawa tonight.

Florida is maybe more hurt than we really tought

Realistically, who would an outsider team rather face?
Matthews Marner nylander Tavares Rielly and woll/stolarz. Guys who underproduce, are soft as shit, or are just not as proven
Or
Kucherov Point Hagel Guentzel Hedman + Vasi. Guys who produce elite numbers, are rats when things are not going the best, and one of the best goalies of the generation?
I know who id want.
On top of that, tampa will have less gas after having to play Ottawa and could potentially have an injury or two. I don’t think any team dispatched of Ottawa in 4, they at least take a game and will fight tooth and nail to try to win.
