LEAFS GDT Atlantic Division - Race to the 1st

No one talks about how easy of a schedule Tampa gets gifted

They got 4 games left, the next 3 are teams on a back to back because they play Florida the night before.

So Tampa ends the season with 4 out of their last 5 games are against teams on back to back's playing Florida the night before while they sit around. They're not getting those breaks in the playoffs. Only their last game of the season against the Rangers is the rare team not on a B2B.

I think no one talks about this because it is irrelevant. The Leafs play Buffalo and Detroit to end the season. Does it get any easier than that?

Keep moving the goalposts.

At least admit you concede they have an easier schedule. Buffalo, Detroit, and Florida on the second half of a back to back while they sit rested.
They have an easier schedule despite playing the exact same two teams the Leafs play. Sure. It won't matter. The Leafs are winning the division. Why not just enjoy it instead of complaining about Tampa's schedule? I'm fairly certain that when the schedule was created last June the league was not thinking about fixing the last 4 games of the season for Tampa at Toronto's expense.

They have an easier schedule because they play each team on the second half of a back to back with no back to backs themselves.

If the Leafs win the division, it becomes a moot point.

Maurice was talking about that the other day.

Seems TB always gets the team on the back to back during the Florida trip.

Yeah, Tampa has an insanely favourable schedule. They mostly get back up goalies too because of that. That's why their goal differential is a mirage.

They finish the season with 4/5 games against teams playing the second half of a B2B while they have no back to backs themselves. Most teams are starting their backup goalie on the second half of a B2B.

Don't have Sportsnet+, they already get enough money from me through my Bell subscription. Don't have ESPN. It definitely wasn't on TSN4, I checked all of the sports channels a few times (and yes, I'm in Leafs region).
Stop paying them money. Be normal and watch it all for free. Just type "event name stream live" or search for sports streaming websites on Reddit by googling "sport name stream websites Reddit". I don't understand why people like to throw their money away like this lol

Agreed, I’ve been at sea watching the leafs for the last 5 years without paying. LOL so many options available

Florida has a 4 point lead on Ottawa. It's next to impossible they'll cross them so forget it.

Ottawa has a 3 point lead on the Habs, and Tampa has a 3 point lead on Florida.

Ideal is Florida and Tampa beat each other up in the 1st round.

Unlikely any of these teams cross each other anymore. Going 50% or 4/8 w a 3pt lead means 7/8 points are needed just to tie.

Leafs Ottawa is very likely now. If they can't beat Ottawa they never deserved a cup anyway

All three teams: Leafs, Bolts and Cats are playing Detroit and Buffalo in the last 4 games.

Bolts and cats have the exact same schedule: Detroit, Buffalo, Rangers, and each other.

we literally just have to take every game to OT and only win 1 if we do that to win the division. Even winning 2/4 games means TB has to go 4-0. 3 of the 4 teams we play will also be on the 2nd game of a back to back. MTL on Saturday. Carolina on Sunday which the Leafs will also be on their 2nd of a back to back and then Detroit for our final game. I'm gonna take a guess and assume this is how we finish the season.

If we finish that way, we can still lose the division - particularly if it's a OTL against Buffalo (which most fans would sign up for given we rarely win in Buffalo). Tampa essentially has 4 meaningless games (for the other team).

Buffalo in Buffalo seems to be an auto-loss. Montreal can beat the Sens the night before so they're now playing for WC1 being 1 point behind Ottawa. Carolina could be playing for potential home ice against us. Buffalo game is meaningless for Buffalo but we rarely win on the road in Buffalo. Detroit we usually do well against.

Still lots of things in the air. The Leafs can go 0-4 with that schedule just as easily as 4-0. Hopefully Tampa loses and Florida actually plays for something when they play Tampa on Tuesday (Florida on a B2B and last game of their season - likely resting players unless they have a chance at home ice).

The Leafs haven't lost 4 games in a row all season, and you're worried they are going to do that now? Oh my.

Learning to read will go a long way. At no point in there did I ever say I was worried about them losing 4 games in a row.

You keep projecting your insecurities into posts.

Losing 4 in a row is irrelevant to this discussion. The Leafs can go 2-1-1 and still lose the division.

It won't be Washington in the conference final, and it definitely won't be Winnipeg in the final.
