You really think the Red Sox would go up against the Yankees & Mets if there wasn’t legit interest from Soto

Possible scenario - the Sox Dominican greats and Devers have sold him on living and playing in Boston. He’s probably a fan of Cora. The lineup should be jacked and with 4 of top 25 MLB prospects positional players he knows lineup will rake for years. The park is a hitters paradise for lefties with guys like Billy Goodman & Bill Mueller (did love him) winning batting titles - playing D will be easy once gets 50 games playing the wall
Never underestimate Steve Cohen of Mets but if Soto wants to play here it doesn’t matter what Cohen or Boras want
If they get him it will be great then the bonus of the kid who broke, and Boras can’t walk around with his fly undone during the winter meeetings
Other then Lou’s Mets not getting him it’s a win win - and I’ll gladly have him be a Mets if Bob Stanley could have got an out on his first batter in game 6 1986 WS and given Red Sox 4-2 WS win.

We won't know on Soto until he signs somewhere.
And since he has not signed anywhere it would not surprise me to see this as postureing by Soto to try and get one of the NY clubs to offer more money. Not like it has never happened before with a FA.

MLB has to do something about the deferred contracts, they should count towards the cap or something like that.
