Hadnt thought of it that way before...Isnt that why they pay you the big bucks though Jesse. To phrase tricky questions in fluff so they arent as offensive but get answers?

Danault and Iafallo were 3rd and 6th in scoring for the team. But who makes these ridiculous decisions?! You are something else, Herby.
Not saying he was good -- but not many players were, obviously. But to act like it's a ridiculous decision to put your top 6 scorers on the PP is kind of...well, ridiculous.View attachment 583270
He was also visibly atrocious from the bumper.
like I said, it is when they prove to be awful and then you never adjust. ESPECIALLY when you have your leading pp scorer and best shot on the 2nd unit. the 2nd unit was notably better at the end of the year. Even Arvidsson wasnt on first unitNot saying he was good -- but not many players were, obviously. Yeah the Arvidsson thing was also inexcusable. They went lefty heavy on the PP when you have a pretty good RH finisher on the 2nd unit and you are sending out Danault and Iafallo?like I said, it is when they prove to be awful and then you never adjust. I think in this day and age it must be hard to avoid a sense of these things butHe doesn't know about this part unless he reads the boards.
Starting him there no. Leaving him there, yes it was. Doing the same things and being surprised when you get the same result… you know the rest. Not saying he was good -- but not many players were, obviously. Why I think this was more McLellan than Sturm is that when Iafallo was playing well, McLellan insisted Iafallo is a “star” in this league.Starting him there no. Leaving him there, yes it was. Doing the same things and being surprised when you get the same result… you know the rest.
I feel like it's worse: when he was positioned there on one rare occasion he scored. Then he was back on the left side pretty soon thereafter. He scored a number of his goals from that left side, but he was there such a high percentage of the time that a highlight video is misleading as to how frequently it didn't work (and sometimes caused the play to slow down since he has to stop the puck first and then shoot).
The difference in how often he can take a slapshot (i.e., likely a one-timer) from one side versus the other is pretty apparent here:

My questions certainly weren't asking why he sucks. They are about thought process and decision making.
Well, it did. Don’t want to be asked that question? Don’t keep doing the same thing over and over and then acting confused why the result is the same. That was directed at a question after yours that literally was "why did the PP suck"

Yup totally. I don’t expect anyone to go in front of the org and say “you’re an abject failure”. That’s what this place is for. But the question deserves to be asked in a tactful way.there was a stretch in the middle of the season that was pretty laughable and was punctuated by PP1 not scoring for extended times, then PP2 with a mix of kids going out and scoring nearly immediately despite starting in their defensive end, then PP1 going out and promptly giving up a SHG. The PP was literally losing us games.
Why does the PP suck is a legitimate question. It doesn't have to be asked that way of course but I 100% want to know what's going thru a pro coach's head at that point because it looks awful to us mere mortals.
I'd wanna see how that worked first.Jesse, found it interesting in most recent pod that you would put Fiala on 2nd line considering everyone is healthy….and Arvy with Kopitar.
But you had stated earlier in the pod that it was the obvious the Kopitar/Arvy combo didn’t work….you confused me.I'd wanna see how that worked first.
I am deeply mistrustful of the "obvious" or "easy" answers in life.
Kings get talented winger.
Kings MUST put talented winger on top line.
I'm not buying it. As always I hope it works out that way... but I am skeptical.
I think Zach said that and I didn't argue. But you had stated earlier in the pod that it was the obvious the Kopitar/Arvy combo didn’t work….you confused me.
I am big of that for finding out who has chemistry. We need to find that Rob and Big level of chemistry for FialaI'd wanna see how that worked first.

Did his salary increase, decrease or remain static when he moved over to the reign? We'll be talking to Reign head coach Marco Sturm in advance of the Rookie Faceoff next week so....
you know the drill... get your questions in here.
Keep em appropriate, keep em on topic and I'll get to as many as I can.
