Lol god damnit, Elias was who I was eyeing here to play with Cowley, as he has an underrated defensive game.

Be back with my pick in a few minutes.
He's been my ideal target to play with Lach the entire time because of what you said here.

Really wanted another two-way piece alongside Lach on the second line.

Baltimore will add some hockey royalty and leadership to their lineup in Lester Patrick, D.

One of hockey's earliest rushing defensemen, he'll look to bring Clippers fans out of their seats on the regular. Solid puck handler, a good shot, solid checker, speedy pace of play, and tape to tape passing will help make Lester an effective anchor for our 2nd pairing.

Yeah, we considered him with our last pick but he has only 5 full years and quite many missed games. Don't get me wrong, he is amazing player but we decided to wait until next year.

I'm sort of glad Voight is taking all day. I've been going back and forth between a few different options for my next pick all damn day lol I'll think my mind is made up but then i'll convince myself otherwise.

Baltimore is pleased to add one of the most versatile players in the entire ATD to our roster. An all-around forward who can play up and down the lineup, can slot in at any of the three forward positions (will play LW here), and can fit on really any type of line. The type of player who could do it all. Scored well, checked well, I have found a few sources that spoke of his capable defensive abilities and backchecking, he drove the net well, was noted as being a top notch stickhandler, and could even add some physicality to his game when needed. One of the top postseason performers of his era, and a guy noted for his clutch scoring..

Welcome..Frank Foyston, LW/C

Chicago will round out our blueline's top 4 with a hard-hitting Dman who was the best player (and Captain) on the Bruins teams that went to back to back Finals in 1957 & 58: Fern Flaman, D

Norris record:
1955: 3rd (behind Harvey and Kelly)
1956: 5th
1957: 3rd (behind Harvey and Kelly)
1958: 3rd (behind Harvey and Gadsby)
1959: 5th

1958 Coach's poll (the only such poll we have for the Original 6 period):
  • Doug Harvey won for "best defensive defenseman." Flaman and Pronovost are the only other two defensemen with votes.
  • Flaman finished 1st for "best fighter."

Legends of Hockey: ""Basing his game on discipline and a strong physical presence, Ferdinand Charles Flaman was one of the game's top stay-at-home defensemen in the 1950s. Although he contributed to his team's transitional game when needed, it was as an open-ice bodychecker and for his ability to clear opponents from around his goal that Flaman acquired his reputation"

Love Flaman. He is underappreciated for what he did on those O6-hopeless Boston squads.

A true pugilist too, always great to have on the blueline in my book.
