Please.
His only top 10 finish in goals or assists was his 5th finish in goals his one Selke win.
He never was a 1st team NHL all star. He was once a 2nd teamer.
He is bottom-6 role star in an ALL-TIME context. No Phoenix Coyotes, Minnesota Wild or Columbus Bluejackets here.
On some ATD line-ups he'd be the 4th line starter.
166th overall all time? Fan boy bumpity bump bump.
(An early 3rd line center pick isn't unwise. Trying to sell him as a top-6 role offensive pivot against all players ever is too rich.)

I'd certainly welcome Toews on my team with plans to go on a deep playoff run any day of the week.
But then again, this is coming from someone that grew up across the street from him, and who may or may not have been a glorified shooter-tutor for Mr. Toews in street hockey.

If we're nitpicking fact here are Toews' +/- on the road versus the rest of the NHL from 08-09 to 14-15:

Never mind that I never called Toews "a top-6 role offensive pivot" and that you're just strawmanning me with your "facts". Toews will play on my 2nd line because he makes for a good contrast with Mario Lemieux, and because Anatoli Firsov will be on his wing and the latter is used to be the offense-driver on his line and playing with an intangibles center.

You put him on your 2nd line (on the roster thread) with Alfredsson, who's an ATD 3rd liner himself or ROLE-playing top-6er - he has never been top 5 in goals or assists. Your entire offensive line weapon of merit is Firsov? ... Ideally you kick Toews or Alfie to the 3rd line, give them each a letter on their jersey, and draft some more firepower for that 2nd line. Seriously, man.
