Savannah selects left winger Artemi Panarin, the 4-time 1st/2nd team all star Hart trophy finalist who, in the latter half of his 10-year career, went to New York and scored 400 points as a Ranger in less games than anyone else ever, largely on his skating and passing acumen. He has the longest (current) NHL streak of leading one's team in regular season scoring with 7 consecutive seasons on top.

Savannah selects 6'2, 193 lbs Bob Goldham, the 4-time Stanley Cup defenseman, first as a rookie in Toronto, and the others a decade later Detroit, the last of which in 1955 was the year he was an NHL 2nd team all star.
Though he could rush the puck when the opportunity presented itself, Goldham as best known as a defensive defenseman and skilled shotblockeer.

I made a mental note before the draft this year that I wanted to try to create a dangerous top PP unit that could really make opposing teams pay. Special teams is an underrated aspect of this, IMO, and it's imperative to have solid units. That's the goal every year, of course, but this year I really wanted to make it a focus.

Shea Weber has the bomb from the point. Guy Lafleur has the flair and snipe from the wing, Bill Cowley the playmaker extraordinaire and Phil Housley the puck magician. What's that group missing? In my view, it's a dangerous net-front presence. Someone to chip in the dirty goals, to tap-in the feeds down low, take advantage of rebounds and of course try to deflect some point shots.

And if I wanted a net-front presence for the PP, I may as well go out and get one of the greatest to ever do it. That'd be Dave Andreychuk, LW/C

Seriously @VanIslander ,if you volunteer to take a list, be there to make the pick. At least within a reasonable timeframe.

IE was waiting after you, and it's near midnight in EST.

Three Rivers is up early and will select this player largely based on value to secure the best 1-2 punch in the nets. RB was largely responsible for not only the quality but depth of information on him over the past handful of years and certainly influenced me in a positive way through hard work.

He finished 11th overall in the pre-merger project, just 1 spot behind Clint Benedict who went way back when at pick 157. You can toss a coin for 2nd best goalie of pre-consolidation hockey, which is a time period spanning over 4 decades.

Welcome aboard Eagle Eye,

Hugh Lehman, G

I've seen him often as 4th line or spare or MLD. When 2nd line?

I wholly appreciate 2nd tier Soviets in question mark depth roles.

Krutov he hasn't the resume to claim a 2nd line all-time competition role!

As recently as last year. BB played him second line. But he's not taking that kind of role for us this year.

For clock deductions....

nabby12 was skipped
LeafLander was skipped
spitsfan24 was skipped
BenchBrawl was skipped
GKJ was skipped again

Since Professor What picked at 11:16 am EST, and nabby had an hour removed, I'm up at 16:16 EST, or in about an hour 40 minutes. Is my math right?

We're on a six hour clock and the only two deductions i see are for GKJ (-2hrs) and tabness (-1hr).....not sure how that applies to nabby though, shouldn't his clock be up at 5:16?

I'm guessing OP hasn't been updated yet for other skips

I'm literally curling in the Brier right now, so apologies for any delays on my end.

Torpedo Ust-Kamenogrosk selects Nick Metz, LW/C
No way, that's sick! I was a junior curler for about a decade growing up in Nova Scotia. The mate for PEI is a friend of mine from when he curled out of NS, we had a lot of great battles. Good luck, man!
