That’s fine for my team but if I have to research the difference between a hook checker from the 20s who is being used on a trad 70s checking line vs a two way 90s guy who didn’t score much I might need someone to lay out some info or they aren’t going to get my vote
Well I do think it's the GM's responsibility to sell their team. I wish non-GMs of teams would participate more in those threads (and assassination threads) to flesh out the details of some of the teams/combos, because I think that's the best way to get those issues out.

VsX sucks.
I think that is a bit unfair. VsX is a tool, a way to help compare players from different eras. It has positives and negatives, just like any tool. It sucks when relied upon too much, but I think it brings value to the discussion when used appropriately.

It's not that some GMs rely too much on VsX, but rely to much on pure offense in general. The player with the better VsX score had the best offensive results - that's pretty much beyond debate at this points. The player with the better offensive results isn't necessarily the better player overall, and depending on the context, might not even be the better offensive player. One of the things that I look at quite a bit is team scoring. Guys that led their teams in scoring were obviously catalysts. Guys that were often the 3rd leading scorer on their lines were very likely complimentary players.

Figured I may as well add this...ATD 2022 voting participation:

GMs who voted in every playoff matchup not involving their team (counted for co-GMs as long as franchise cast a ballot):

RB/rmartin
Professor What
Benchbrawl/Sturm
Macho King
tony d
nabby12
HT18
Claude The Fraud

GMs who cast some, but not all possible postseason votes:

tinyzombies
Rusty Razor
TheDevilMadeMe
Dreakmur
Voight
Importer/Exporter

GMs who voted only on the regular season:

VanIslander

GMs who cast no votes:

Johnny Engine
tabness
LeafLander

----------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think partial participation is the problem here. People will miss votes, and a number of these GMs cast almost every vote that they could. It's franchises getting abandoned after the draft that seems to have been the bigger issue last year.
