Voted top 5 only because I couldn't vote for top 1
Hopefully you will be outraged when the habs don't offer him the contract worthy of your praise then eh?

Voted outside the top 50 but he might be just inside, hard to say as there are many other better all around Dman but the market does seem to overpay for puck moving Dmen and we simply don't know how will game will translate to the playoffs yet, if it does somewhat seamlessly then top 50, if not no.

I voted top 5 to counter balance the crazy people who voted outside top 50

I voted top 30 , trying to balance the crazy habs fans , can you blame us though? We've had a bottom 3 on ice product for like 25 years. So of course we are going a bit crazy when a prospect finally pans out lol

Assets clearly better than Hutson:
Quinn Hughes
Makar
Mack
Kuch
Helle
McDavid
Drai
Matthews

Assets likely better than Hutson:
Vassy
Eichel
Werenski
Marner
Pasta
Eichel
Hedman
Rantanen
Kaprizov
Shesterkin
Jack Hughes
Barkov
Heiskanen
Dahlin
Keller
Fox

Assets in the same tier as Hutson:
Nylander
Scheifele
Reinhart
Tkachuks (x2)
Kyle Connor
Josh Morissey
Brayden Point
Dustin Wolf
Celebrini
Michkov
Panarin
Brock Faber
Matt Boldy
Aho
Hischer
Stutlze
Raymond
Larkin
Guentzel
Hagel
Necas

Anyways, I'm too lazy to keep going. If you want to be extremely high on him, you can slot him as a top 10 asset. If you think this is his ceiling and it's only going to get harder for a small defenseman like him as teams key in, have more tape on him, top 30 is a low estimate.

It just depends on how you view things, as always predictions are hard and it's why some people make the big bucks because they can on average make better predictions than others.

Your original post said that you'd have him number one and that's what I responded too but now you are saying you put him in the top 5 not because you believe it but to counter other opinions?

Hard to keeptrack, just say what you think he is at you're a big boy.

Also calling people crazy who not only have another opinion but back it up isn't a good look.

Some nuance that’s missing here is how valuable he is to Montreal vs another team

For example, Vancouver would not value him nearly as highly because they have Hughes

The overpay it would take to get him out of Montreal is almost unimaginable, and that’s why I voted top 5

lol no you didn’t, you were one of the first to vote on the poll. You’re not fooling anyone.

There was already votes in outside top 50, I assumed from you

Either way it's a bad look either you believe something or you don't and your first.post was alot more crazy than the people having Hutson outside the top 50.

Take the L and move on.

Why can’t habs fan have good players without wanting everyone else to suck them off? Just enjoy them lol
Jeez this is like the 5th post saying something like this.

Relax? It's a poll on a hockey related message board, talking about a hockey player. I think the options I listed in the poll are more than fair. Nowhere did the OP try to advocate he should be top 10 or even 20, just asking how others rank him and trying to get a conversation started.

He's probably the leading candidate for the Calder, with a ton of potential - and I thought it would be interresting to see how high people value him as an asset.

I tried to adress this in the OP, with the Crosby/Ovechkin example. This isn't about how much he's worth to Montreal, but rather in a vacuum.

Example - Crosby isn't a top _______ most valuable asset because Pittsburgh won't trade him no matter what. The question is - if Crosby were to be made available for trade, how high would the offers be? And it's probably not quite as high, since he's older now.

So - same for Hutson. Forget whether Habs would trade him or not - but consider if they did make him available for trade, how high would the offers for him be? And how does that compare to how high offers other players in the league would fetch?
