And the Ducks out of a trade. Not it wasn't. Ottawa failing to inform Vegas of who was on his LNTC screwed Vegas out of a trade. The punishment was more than fair.

I don't understand why so many NHL teams hand out NTCs and NMCs to unremarkable players.
Vegas management was also idiots, they didn’t even figure it out in the year and half they had Dadanov, , all they had to do was read capfriendly. And the Ducks out of a trade.
I agree with you, too bad the registry doesn’t keep that information.Any club should be able to get the basic info on a player's contract from the registry, be it dates of payment of signing bonuses, trade protection status, number of clubs he can be dealt to, etc.
Because the players demand them? If you've got 5 teams all offering similar years and salary, then the player is more likely to sign a deal with the team that includes an NTC/NMC

Now address the 2 points , since you skipped over them,Inexcusable, eh? I have dealt with a few people for whom it's always somebody else's fault. So, "Why did not anybody stop me from doing this?" is an excuse I have heard before. In both cases the responsibility rested with Ottawa's (Melnyk's) front office, and in both cases they have failed to conduct honest business. But of course, by all means, let's be mad at the NHL.
If you have to give a NMC to a 3rd liner to get him, you should just be okay with not getting him.
Players like Arvidsson are traded at every deadline for a 2nd or 3rd.
f*** there goes another Sens 1st round draft pick!!
I'd settle for no action taken and the Sens absolved of responsibility on the Dadanov tomf***ery personallyAre the teams that traded them to the Oilers going to get a 1st round pick taken away?
Wait...are you NOTENGOUGHBREWER? I literally just made that connection and I feel like a total moron. They got to game 7 of the finals and added a 40 goal scorer in Skinner. Do you think they'll even trail in a game before the SCF?
Bouchard is quite literally the best performing defenseman in the history of the advanced stats era.
They don't need to add anything.

At this point we should give McDavid and Drai to a contender for free so that they can win a cup.How to ruin two top three players in the world, a master class of incompetence, co authored by Ken, Pete, and Stan.
What a hilarious disaster.

A year and a half, Vegas management we’re also useless dummies like Ottawa, it was sitting right there in black and white.
It NHL is to blame also with no database.
I agree with you, too bad the registry doesn’t keep that information.
And Ottawa was penalized after the team was sold to current owner Andlauer.Unbelievable that people still aren't clear about what happened with Dadonov.
Nope.
Nope.
Nope.
Yup.
Yup.
Summary: Ottawa gave Dadonov limited NTC (M-NTC). Ottawa did not inform the league of this clause, nor did it inform Vegas of the clause when they traded Dadonov there. The clause was "revealed" and upheld by the league when Dadonov complained about the subsequent attempt to trade him to Anaheim.
yeah I agree but if u dont sign him then u have to call a kid up and that might not be the best idea. it just is what it is. I dont like them either but it helps sign guys. lolIt's just these aren't the players to be haggling like that with. You do that with core pieces. Not 30-something bottom six guys.

As a congratulations on the new ownership and welcome to the league, they had their 1st round pick taken away (this year or next). Up to them!! Nice! Lol
The timing is not perfect, but the penalty is given to the franchise, not to the owner. As with any business purchase, the new owner accepts all obligations/debts/liabilities.
The 3 people running the estate sale, did not know about the investigation, NHL did not mention it, no one was informed on the Sens side. The only troubling part in the whole thing is whether during sale discussions the seller (Melnyk's family) has honestly communicated this particular aspect to Andlauer, as was their obligation.
That’s why the league should apply the same ruling as the Kovalchuk penalty, with a new owner, last pick in first round.

A really savvy one at that. And the Ducks out of a trade.
