Value of: Arthur Kaliyev

LA won't trade Kaliyev. What they'll do is continue to misuse him for another year or two, until they decide to send him down to the minors to get playing time and re-build his confidence, at which point they'll lose him to waivers and he'll become the next Eeli Tolvanen.

Slow, goal-scoring shooter type winger who doesn't score that many goals? Why, the line will probably be around the block to give up value for that!

Been waiting for Kaliyev+ for Knight to happen all year. Whats the add on from LA? A 2nd round pick and player like Salin,Turcotte, Pinelli or Anderson Dolan?
I like Knight, I always trade for him in my Franchise Mode. But isn’t Knight the next one up to be the starter? Unless FLA has another goalie in the pipeline.

Yes he is, no way Florida even entertains trading him for a Kaliev and picks/prospects

How many kings players have we lost on waivers that turned out to be as good as tolvanen? or that wasnt already replaced on our team through other means? this is also an actual question as i cant find any good lists online .. haha im looking though

The problem with trading these types of players is, every team already has 2, 3, 4 of them on their roster, or in their system. Young players who haven’t been able to consistently produce in the NHL yet. So they’re not willing to give up anything.

oh, he's a player, and the production by the minute is good, and his PP production is astounding when contextualized. The Kings are just a f***ing joke. He needs to be unleashed.

How many players had the Preds lost on waivers that turned out as good as Tolvanen? Being unprecedented doesn't mean that it won't happen for the first time and that other teams might eventually argue that they never lost anyone who turned out as good as Kaliyev.

So your complaining about what can happen to any team .. not specifically LA or their leadership .. gotcha

Add another prospect to the list of "guys the Kings refused to play to their strengths". He's got a hell of a shot and a nose for the net, but he's essentially been relegated to a fourth line grinder role for his entire young career.

Any teams interested in taking a shot on Kaliyev? If so, what would the return be? Kings are looking for upgrades at RW, potentially LD, and possibly in net, and clearly aren't afraid of giving up picks or prospects.
Deal him for Allen?

I wonder if Harris and/or Ylönen and/or Barron could be of interest to LA.

Might have to do Kaliyev with Roy to free up a bit of salary and hunt for a better target. Roy alone at trade deadline should fetch a first.

If LAK are moving both Roy and Kaliyev, there's definitely smoke around Chychrun and wouldn't be surprised to see both teams make that move, should Roy be okay with extending ahead of time. This also means he would have to commit to Ottawa instead of testing the open market which is probably the most unlikely part of a trade like that.

Either way Kaliyev will be a Sen at some point soon here. Wonder if LAK is interested in Tarasenko as well.
