Seems like a fair deal that I think the Hawks can find room to make work.

With the bonus overage/Scuderi retained coming off the cap + space this year for additional bonus, it would work.

Beyond that, the Hawks can trade Kruger (or expansion)

They currently have $15m in space next season, if they signed him for $6m they would have to fill out 10 spots with $9m.

Would have to move one of Seabrook or Hossa to get a good team in.

Assuming his rookie year wasn't a fluke, and that's who he is as a player, he is selling himself on the cheap.

Yeah, take notes Johnny.

6x6 is a ludicrous underpayment for Panarin.

$6M is a bargain if he can come anywhere close to his season last year

Better sign it now because if he has another season like he did last year and there is no reason to believe he won't then the price will only rise.

That's bafflingly cheap. If that's all he wants, sign him and figure out the rest next offseason.

This is much lower than what Panarin is worth and is actually doable for the Hawks.

Stan would be completely stupid not to sign the man.

Great deal, but how are they going to fit anyone making over $3 mil?

Maybe that Ribeiro rumor has legs after all.

Yeah, take notes Johnny.

6x6 is a ludicrous underpayment for Panarin.

You tell Johnny to take notes, then admit it's "ludicrous underpayment?"

Two areas where JG and AP differ:

1) Johnny is more proven (as mentioned by a previous poster), as well as the main offensive cog for the Flames (vs Panarin being more of a support player for the Hawks).

2) There is much more incentive for Panarin to take a paycut - play opposite Kane, play for a contender.

Johnny is the driver in Calgary. Panarin holds out and the Hawks are still a playoff team and contender. Johnny holds out, and the Flames are bottom 5.

6 deals? That's rough. I like the confidence this kid has though, figures he's worth 6 guys making 6 mill each. You gotta hope he comes down one or two deals though.
