Artemi Panarin, MSG reached settlements with Rangers employee after sexual assault allegation

Whats funny is teach your daughters to defend themselves is stage 2, stage 1 is accepting that there are bad people out there.
So it becomes this odd argument where both sides agree that there are bad people out there, 1 side moves onto the most obvious and impactful option, the other is still arguing stage 1.
So someone says, she could have been better situationally aware, then someone says that's victim blaming.
So in saying she could have been more situationally aware, you are already assuming the crux of the person claiming victim blaming's argument to be true. The base theme is that there are bad people out there.
I'm not saying anything, i don't disagree with you.

But i think trying to solve a situation she has with a supposedly friendly (and world famous) coworker in a public place herself isn't like her walking in ghetto alleyways alone at 2am wearing nothing but lingerie.

I really don't feel like she was chasing after trouble here.

Exactly.

People can't seem to connect the dots how that it is accepting rape and sexual assault as an inevitability and putting the majority of the responsibility on women to prevent it.

It also ignores the amount of bullshit like this ("I got your phone! come get it!") that women have to put up with on a daily basis that is creepy and annoying but does not lead to a sexual assault.

You can condemn abhorrent behavior and also note poor choices that, if done differently, could've prevented the scenario. The reality is you can't stop the world from breeding shitheads. You can teach sensible decisions to protect yourself and those you love from them. This isn't a utopic world.

yes that's the standard bullshit answer that people give that puts attention on the victims actions instead of those that actually acted wrongly.

Apparently I need to repeat this:

What a loser if true.
Hope the alleged victim is doing OK mentally.

You can go to jail though for sharing anxiety meds, it's considered a serious crime.

Anxiety meds kind of insinuates benzodiazapines (sp?) which is a controlled substance and it's federal law not to transfer unauthorized.

That's an interesting dynamic to the story and I wonder if it had anything to do with what transpired.

I don't know the ins and outs or specific details (none of us really do) but if it's true Panarin held her hostage like that, then he is a SCUMBAG and an irrefutable LOSER.

I can't blame the woman in this case if true. She did nothing wrong. Panarin wasn't some stranger.

Nope. It's still a stupid answer.

Maybe you and others here should examine why you spend so much time and energy immediately thinking of what the woman should have done differently rather than what led the perpetrator to do such a thing, and how we can teach men to not assault women instead of what women should do differently.

There's so much thought given to how the women should have behaved and what we should teach them, but so little reflection on how men are raised and how they could do such a thing and think it's ok.

Nobody's going to federal prison for sharing a controlled substance with co-workers lol.

if true prob a large suspension or ban from NHL?
It's not likely.

It happened a year and half ago and the Rangers consider the matter resolved. The league had to know about it.

The Rangers covered it up and the league did nothing. It's past tense at this point.

Hockey having a normal one.

If they weren't privileged by their role, and was any other dick or jane with regular jobs, you can absolutely serve time for sharing controlled substances.

"Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree is a Class A misdemeanor, which means they could face up to one year in jail."

So based on league history, this probably means the Rangers will get the 1st overall pick.

If you're ignorant enough to think the federal justice system is worried about Joe Schmo giving their friend a xanny bar, I don't know what to tell you.

You probably also think they charge low level fraud cases. I'll give you a hint, the federal justice system doesn't give a shit unless they're a major dope slinger. Anything else is left to the states.

I think it depends on how familiar she was with the dark side of sports culture.

Whatever dude you seem pretty sure of yourself but I know people who have had records because of it. It's a big deal. Other than that I don't know what to tell you other than I'm going by what federal law says.

Go ahead and PM me the names of your friends who have gone to federal prison for simply sharing a controlled substance with friends lmao. I'll be happy to look up their cases and admit you were right.
