Value of: Artemi Panarin / David Pastrnak to LAK

Mitchell Marner has Kings written all over him. Wayne Gretzky 2.0!
I can see this happening but I wonder if Mitch would rather catch a team on the rise like the Ducks, Sharks or San Jose as the Kings are somewhat aging out a bit.

Pasta for Byfield, Clarke and 2026 1st.
LA is better off keeping thsoe 3 assets as Byfiled and Clarke ares till devloping and a huge part of their future.

Pasta is either going to languish during the rough rebuild in Boston or get moved elsewhere hard to say but he is also turning 29 and he might have some juice left of course but the back 9 is on the horizon soon.

For good or worse, Boston will be keeping Pasta as they try and improve the roster around he, McAvoy, and Swayman. If it's still not working as intended in a couple of seasons, I think anything is on the table at that point in regards to trading those three.

Its not a rebuild. If it was a true rebuild they'd have moved Pastrnak, Swayman & McAvoy too.

Marchand - Pending UFA and they didn't appear to be close on an extension. That's just good asset management.
Coyle - Had one more year on his deal and wasn't part of the future. He's a very good 3C, but Boston has enough guy who can play 3C.
Carlo - The one guy that trade wise confused me because he had 2 more years on his deal for relatively cheap money.

A rebuild doesn't make sense for Boston because they have a decent core group. Its not like they have an aging core and no cap space to improve their team. Rebuilds in general are terrible. More times than not, they lead to another rebuild and in the instances where it a rebuild works, it take 8+ years.
When someone is giving you a top 2 prospect in system plus a 1st round pick that could in top 20 plus a 4th round pick for a carlo you take that and run and never look back.😃

2 Dustin Brown statues should get it done
We only have Kyle Clifford statues here.

What's the point of replying to this thread then? Go start a Marner thread.
I don't want LA to go after Marner, but it's what the LA management has been rumored to be doing.

Because the last time LA traded all their depth for a 1 year rental went so well (PLD). They are highly unlikely to make that mistake again. And I replied because some Kings fans want to make that mistake again. Many others like myself hope that doesn't happen. Plus, 1 year of Panarin isn't going to get LA past Edmonton.

That's okay because LA isn't making deals for Panarin or Pastrnak. They are more likely going to overpay for Marner and keep all those guys.

LA will probably be in the trade market for buy low candidates if they go that route.

Do you think it would change the calculation at all if NYR was willing to retain substantial salary on Panarin for the year?

What should they be doing? They arent young. Try and win the next two years and then retool with Kempe Byfield Anderson Helenius Greentree Clarke
Exactly.

Some Kings fans are a bit delusional in thinking Ken Holland was brought in to do a mini re-tool. They are in a win now mode. It's also quite possibly Anze Kopitar's last year and I think many Kings fans underestimate the hole that leaves in our line-up. Quinton Byfield is not close to the player Anze is.

Not for LA. It’s the opposite of what they should be doing. Not chasing aging stars.
Artemi Panarin having 1 year left makes complete sense.

I dont know how that would be remotely possible.

Maybe just all the good players less Byfield are older.
Oop, my bad. It changed up the year on me…They’re middle of the pack.

With that, they have a young core that is replacing the out going. Makes zero sense to trade for older players that don’t fit that core age. They already have two retirement expensive contracts on the books.
