Artem Zub is very underrated

It is hard to praise him since I've heard that Chabot, Sanderson, and Chychurn are all #1 Ds (some will end up contending for the Norris), and Zub is now also getting a thread about how he is underrated... maybe Ottawa's D is not as good as their fanbase thinks.

If you want to know what fans actually think about their players you should read the teams' boards.

As to Chabot Ottawa fans haven't been happy with him for quite awhile. Chychurn they've never thought about as a 1D since his first games for the team. Zub on the other side has been a fan favorite pretty much since he started to play for Ottawa.

He is such a stable defender. Closes on guys very quickly along the boards, good reach, size, and footwork. Rarely gets beat, holds the line well and makes smart passes.

Has a bit of offense as well. Good low shot from the point, pinches when needed, and moves the puck to his partner or down low at the right time.

Compliments whatever partner he plays with, providing a steadying influence.

Bad (or rather not good enough) Russian players don't usually play in NHL because they have KHL.

But when Yakupov, older Svechnikov, Gurianov played in NHL, I never was their fan...
