This site is blocked by my work's firewall but another poster cited an interview with Babayev (Prospect Info: - #129 Arseny Gritsyuk RW) saying the contract would begin with the 2025/26 season. Does this contradict that? Thanks for posting

The article says he will sign in the next few days, but continues on to say he will play next season. We still don't have a straight answer on whether he will appear in the playoffs.

The difference is Nikishin can sign a 2 year ELC but Grits is a year older and can only sign a one year. So I guess the question is do the Devils think it's worth it to blow his ELC on like 2 regular season games and a round in the playoffs if they get eliminated.

I think the worst part of signing him now is that it will take him to an RFA in July with no restriction on $$$. That could be a disaster, having a small sample size to figure out what to sign him for. And would his impact on the game be worth that risk? I would think not, but we shall see what happens soon enough.
