I hate the Kings but the Kings talent is infinitely better than Columbus's. He wouldn't be playing with Kopitar on Columbus.

Gaborik sconed +40 goals with Christensen and Prospal. As elite as they come, he'd have been a huge addition. But yes, the talent on LA is of course a factor for his huge succes in the PO.

How is Gretzky-Lemieux a rivalry? Did they ever even play each other in the playoffs? I'm pretty sure they didn't.

Meh. When people think big time sports rivalries between players they don't generally think about scoring titles. Magic Johnson versus Larry Bird was huge because they kept meeting in the finals, not because of their PPG rates.

So, is Messier and Howe a rivalry? Since they are close in number of points...

In the late 80s, when Gretzky was approaching Howe in total points, the media tried to conjure up a rivalry between them, but Howe kept saying he was rooting for Gretzky and could not have been happier for him...

Did they play at the same time? Vie for MVP honors every year? Compete for the Art Ross trophy? Debated as to who was best in the league? Compete for the Stanley Cup in different conferences with the chance to meet in the finals?

It's a rivalry like Ovechkin and Crosby were at one point. Except bigger.

Gretzky-Lemiuex was only a rivalry for the Ross. Lemieux's rivals were the Rangers and Caps.

You can't have a player rivalry in the NHL in terms of on ice stuff. Avery-Brodeur was more media driven.

Colorado-Detroit was a huge rivalry, but nobody would say Sakic-Yzerman were heated rivals.

Cam Neely-Ulf Samuelson is probably the best player hatred "rivalry".

Umberger is old and slow, with three years left on a deal paying his 4.6 on the cap.

I'd be pissed too if I was on a losing org for years then benched when games mattered. But life sucks, so deal with it.

Gaborik will stay in LA. Vanek is going to Minnesota. Moulson was garbage in Minnesota and I wouldn't be surprised if Snow re-signs him.

Callahan will get overpaid to go to Buffalo because they're probably the only ones giving him seven years.

I think Subban versus any Bruin tops the most hated rivalry by a huge margin....that's the main reason they beat Boston...the hate for him absolutely killed them .

Depending on the outcome of the Hawks-Kings games, Hank could overtake Crawford for GAA and SV%. He's 0.02/0.002 behind in both categories.

Imagine what Columbus could have done with him on the team. Might have beaten the Penguins.

IIRC the Kings got him for pretty cheap while the Pens big deadline acquisition was Stempniak. Imagine if Shero got Gaborik to play alongside Crosby down the stretch and in the playoffs.

I doubt they would've played together... Everyone talented they try to put with Crosby fails cuz he's "so hard to play with" that's why they put dupuis and cunitz with him.. Only people capable of succeeding with him

The West is going to be a war, already at the start of the game the teams are going hard at each other. This bodes well for whoever comes out of the East, lets hope the West tears each other apart and their winner comes in to the Finals limping

If we got to the cup final I'd take the hawks.. Hank can out play Crawford.. but I don't know about quick since their the two best goalies in the world

Traded for a 2nd round pick, and now the top goal scorer in the play offs.

Milbury pls...you beat a guy with his own shoe..and he's saying MTL needs to "beat the tar out of Kreider with one of their better players"
