I picked Bruins in 5 in my pool. Never could understand anybody picking the Penguins, this season I have considered them as seriously not Cup material at all.
Cup favourites? Crazy talk.

Thank you. That's exactly what I predicted. Boston wins the 1st two, the Pens get 15 power plays in game 3 and then Boston wins the next two.
I was much more worried about the B's getting past your team than I have been about the Pens.
You guys have one of the best defensive teams in the League and Boston had a lot of clean shots. I just thought they would rip apart their Norris Trophy candidate and his friends to the tune or 5 or 6 a game.
Probably tough for y'all to cheer for the Bruins but - Pittsburg? Seriously?

well a short sited person could say that Pittsburgh has better scorers. Their top six is pretty effin' sick

Neal-Malkin-Iginla
Kunitz-Crosby-freakin' Pascal Dupuis

Boston on the other hand has one hot line and an ok 2nd line

Lucic-Krecji-Horton
Marchand-Bergeron-Jagr

if you were to just look at those two match ups, on paper the Pens are better so i can see someone making a knee jerk reaction and say the Pens will win the series. However when you factor in bottom six, the Bruins have much better players. But that isn't even it. The real story is the Pens have horrible defense and the Bruins have amazing defense. And not just blue line defense but team defense. If Vokoun or Fleury were playing in front of the B's defense, they'd look like Conn Smythe material. I really think they make Rask look way better than he actually is. If Rask played in front of the Pens defense, he'd be Swiss cheese.

I'm still gonna root for the Pens and Hawks though. I want my Jean Claude Van Damme Sudden Death rematch dammit! Hopefully the Pens figure out how to break through the B's defense a bit better.

It's a good thing Pittsburgh addressed its biggest problem at the deadline by trading for Douglas Murray.

Did you know that Crosby would win the Selke if he wasn't so good offensively (I ****ing swear, this was being discussed a few months ago)

I'm a bit confused too. Why is Letang up for Norris? The DEFENSEMAN trophy?

Bcos he's one of the best on that position. Hate em as much as you :) but Letang is definitely one of the best dmen in the league.

Man does it feel good to see them loose. Especially since half of the board already handed them the cup

does anyone take any solace in knowing that we played the B's as tight as we did after seeing them absolutely DEMOLISH Pitt like this?

pittsburghs downfall imo always was the goal tending if they didn't win the cup.. Even the Rangers played Boston better so far, that's how good Lundqvist is

Not as much as Leaf fans do, knowing they were minutes away from putting the Bruins away in 7 games.

Annoyed I missed last night's game. Was at a party and they had the basketball game on :(

Normally I would have left, but it was my bud's last night on Long Island

I feel absolutely nothing for the remaining 4 teams in the play-offs to root for any of them to advance / win SC.

However, the only PLAYER I could actually root for (emotionally) is Jagr. It looks like the break before ECF was good for him - on defense he seems to have enough energy to backcheck and on offense - he's still JAGR! I'd be happy if he won another SC with over 20 years since his last one.

Someone needs to shop Crosbys face there with Pierre smelling him.

Their whole defense is slow and overated, starting with Orpik, Murray, England...etc and there goaltending is straight out of my son's roller hockey league, they are being exposed

And Corsi over a one game period is insane because sample size is the biggest advantage it has over standard +/-.

An example of why Corsi is a flawed statistic.....Crosby: + 11 in Game 2, Krejci: -9.

Of course it's flawed when zone starts aren't taken into account. Crosby had 1 defensive zone draw, 7 neutral zone draws and 9 offensive zone draws. Krejci on the other hand, had 8 defensive zone draws, 12 neutral zone draws and 3 offensive zone draws. It's seems pretty natural that the player who gets more offensive zone starts (Crosby) will have a better shot differential while on the ice as opposed to the shutdown player (Krejci). Corsi is a stat that measures all shots directed at net, hence it makes sense why Crosby had a better rating with softer zone starts.
