Neither team in Dallas v. Colorado is in the western time zone either. It's amazing to me how bad they are at basic scheduling. 3 Eastern Conference teams played yesterday. How could they not avoid that? A game randomly starts at 6:30 tomorrow. Which, I had no idea about until I just so happened to open up NHL.com looking for other examples of bad scheduling, and immediately found one.3 games in a night and the second starts at 9:52. Just garbage
At least the home team is Mountain Time Zone, so it's only 7:52 local for them. Not the worst start time for the locals. My thing with playoff schedule is it should cater to the home team fans, so if you're playing a team two time zones away (which can't be avoided with how the Western Conference is set up), only the home teams fans who are packing the arena should matter in the schedule. Every home game should be either 7, 7:30, or (rarely) 8 PM local starts on weeknights. Yes, given the number of teams in Eastern/Central time zones this probably means 3 games on at the same time in the first round, but deal with it. You've got multiple TV partners with multiple channels + streaming options, and you've got RSNs showing games in the home markets anyways. This shouldn't be that hard.Neither team in Dallas v. If a game is a 7PM start then they should do the anthems at 650. No need for them to be part of the TV broadcast. At least the home team is Mountain Time Zone, so it's only 7:52 local for them. What really grinds my gears is when they make central (or last night, TB/Fla) start games at 8:30 local...and then don't actually drop the puck until over 20 minutes later! There's way too much time between the listed start time and actual puck drop, and it's even worse when the listed start time is so damn late for the home fans!
I get that game dates are often dictated by arena availability, travel, etc. And they want to cater to their television partners who are showing the games. But they book 2.5 hour windows for games (which never finish that quickly)...and don't drop the puck for 10-20 minutes in those windows to begin with, which delays things further...
End rant.

Yea but how are you gonna feel patriotic otherwise?
Anthems are dumb unless it’s played between two national teams. Nobody cares about the anthems between the Jets and Blues, or Oilers and Kings, or Habs and Caps. Those teams aren’t playing for the country they’re in. They’re playing to advance to try to win the cup. It’s not a Canada vs. US game. It’s just a team that happens to be located in a country.
Ive been advocating for years to drop the anthems from sporting events.Yea but how are you gonna feel patriotic otherwise?

PropagandaIt's like you totally miss the point of why anthems are played *hint* It's not Patriotism

Propaganda
Oilers fans still convinced they don’t miss McLeod (and Halloway and Foegele of course) as they’ve gotten thumped a combined 12-2 if not for McDavid going god mode because he was mad he got punched
It's crazy they can watch what happened last night and still think they don't need a McLeod type player in their lineup. Even if he isn't a "tough" player.Hey, good thing they signed Jeff Skinner and Viktor Arvidsson with all that money they saved on McLeod. And then lose Halloway and Broberg. Good thing, right?
Right?
Skinner being out of the lineup last night was probably a solid defensive move considering he was on for three straight Kings goals in Game 1 (and yes, did pick up a point later).

Kings have been impressive. They’ve gotten so much slower in their depth. It would not surprise me if the kings knocked them off after watching part of game one annd all of game two.
I used to have so much hatred against Sabres rivals…but since we don’t have rivals anymore, all of my hatred is pointed at the Oilers, because of their belligerent fans on here.Oilers fans still convinced they don’t miss McLeod (and Halloway and Foegele of course) as they’ve gotten thumped a combined 12-2 if not for McDavid going god mode because he was mad he got punched
That makes even less sense. Has nothing to do with hockey.Honoring.

If they are honoring anything, it should be hockey related. Otherwise, honoring John Candy and Bill Murray would make more sense than honoring a group of people because took a job with the government.
