Montour is a stud... Thanks Ralph..
Ralphus...

How many players have gone on to great success after leaving Ralphus? Montour, Skinner, Thompson, Dahlin, Mitts.

Maybe we shouldn't judge players when the coach is so shitty? But then again, how can a coach be this shitty? It's almost as if Ralphus deliberately sabotaged this team

Ullmark, Eichel, McCabe, Hall, Miller, and Borgen are still all alive in the playoffs right now and have been good where they landed - certainly better than in Buffalo. Ralph was a dufus. Botterill was a bigger dufus for following up the Housley hire with Krueger.

Sucks, because I swear I had that feeling Montour could do more. His meh defense led to a meh role, but he always had the wheels to contribute on offense. Ralph’s shit system limited that. Ah well, he’s one of the ones I root for. Hope he banks the winner off Hall, that’d be ideal.

I read that as "breaks the wiener off Hall".

And my first thought was, "Yes. That's just fine."

Also, not for nothing but the two teams playing tonight have put together defenses built through a high draft pick (Ekblad), three waiver claims (Forsling, Mahura, Fitz), an RFA cap dump (Montour), and two retread UFAs (Gudas, MStaal) while the other is a moderately high draft pick (McAvoy), some mid-round guys from their own system (Grzelyck, Carlo), a UDFA (Clifton), a depth UFA (Forbort), a rental (Orlov) and a big trade (Lindholm).

Only one guy out of all of those was part of a big deal - Lindholm - and the rest are judicious personnel decisions that aren't always the sexiest.

Admittedly I thought montour was overrated when we got him, and his time here only affirmed my opinion. Now, not feeling so hot about that take
