Around the NHL: PTO Season Becomes Waiver Season

Bowness was not happy. Wow

Over the last two years, I've often thought that the Kane incident was perhaps a far earlier indication that there are some deep issues in the Jets locker room. I can't wait to hear Vanek defend his bestie Wheeler who seems to be a major part of the quitting in Winnipeg... again.

Would love for the Jets to blow it up, make Helly available and potentially Ehlers.

Also,
Lowry please and thank you! Him with Greenway would be a dream bottom 6

A moral to this story could be that letting offensive guys have free reign without instilling good defensive habits is self-inhibiting. Hopefully someone like Cozens who is talking up scoring 40 also remembers people talking about his ability to shut down other high-powered centers and has the image of his early peel from Fasching on that goal still stuck in his head.

I can't wait for ATW to push for someone like Wheeler. I point to Vanek specifically - there are reasons Thomas has a child named Blake and Wheeler wears #26. Those guys are tight.

Didn't Stastny elude to their being a lack of accountability in that locker room last offseason also? Seems like it's still there and it continues to point back at guys like Wheeler and Scheifele primarily, but I'm sure many others as well. They really need to take a hard look at their locker room and some of the guys who have been there for 5+ years.

The article in the Athletic goes into some of it. Connor on the very first goal waves his stick at Stone as he wins the puck along the wall. He doesn't do a thing. Doesn't step into his man, doesn't commit to winning the puck on the wall. Nothing. Scheifele and Wheeler are parts of it, but that roster needs to have the drain pulled.

Seems like Eichel is still Eichel; far away from a clutch player; only negative goal differential among the VGK top forwards and a whooping 39 faceoff %

been trying to contain myself but I've been quietly rooting for the Panthers.

Yeah, they got Tkachuck and Gudas but they also have Sam Reinhart and (a little less enthused) Steve Montour.

Ullmark's presence doesn't outweigh my hatred for that cheap little bastard Marchant. LOL

Remember 1996!!

But I want the Bruins to win, because they’ll take out the Leafs. They’re too deep. But I want the Panthers to win because I hate the Habs, and I want them to be disappointed by the Chiarot return. I want them to go from “yay lottery pick” to “oh shit we might get a 28-32 pick”.

So as it stands, I’m cheering for the best opponent to take out the Leafs. Then once they’re eliminated, I cheer for the best chance to disappoint Hab fans. If it goes that way… Vegas >> Leafs.

I think the Leafs have finally broken thru. The odds have been in their favor to do so. The curse of the Bambino is finally over...... lol

When is a hip check not a hip check but instead a trip.......?

Sorry here but I will never ever root for the Bruins.

I admire their organization and resiliency. And they are the NHL's best team right now.

But I hate their efing guts.
