I’m pretty sure that has to do with him not shutting up and him cosplaying as Greg Louganis.

Optics/injury play such an oversized role- not defending the play, but Schiefele’s hit last year was technically clean or close to it. It’s just such a bad look and so unnecessary that the league came down super heavy on it. Problem is that they do nothing to discourage this shit when the dude doesn’t get hurt, or when the lights aren’t brightest. Start giving 1-2+ games for dangerous plays- I don’t think Cernak woulda even got his 2 had he not had history of doing this to one specific team.

Isles are way too scummy, the worst combo of cheap and whiny and divey. They're plenty tough when they can run you from behind or catch you in the head. Then they whine constantly from the bench and dive till it's even. Then they'll commit 5 of the same foul the opponent got called for a ticky-tack on the next shift. Their brand of hockey must be eradicated like smallpox.

Umm …this is “slightly” different bc it’s sports - not personal relationships. Hate and villains are part of what make sports fun. I’m not actively rooting against my exes is a competitive way - I could care less and would hope they are well. They are also not playing professional hockey on my TV multiple times a week…


Are y’all buying Lucic drinks after he ran Miller? I’m not personally attacking his family ever ( nor is anyone else) but we totally can hate on him the hockey player freely and boo him every time he touches the puck. Just like I do brad Marchand, but more so since he gave up on our team and insulted our fans. It’s not personal it’s big boy professional sports - he made himself a villain and that makes it more fun! Plus don’t we want to get the other teams best players off their game by getting under their skin? That’s the whole point of being a fan helping your team!

Who needs to move on?? Based on points 1 and 2, you obviously have folks you root against? It’s not directed hurt feelings toward eichel - I am happy he left based on what we got back. But it’s sports fun to have someone to root against actively. I still hate the canes for beating us with our team that should have won the cup.

Vegas is also a very hatable villain team
Currently too - they are egregiously circumventing the cap, have screwed some prominent players they shipped out, and the continued media butt kissing of an underperforming eichel is annoying ( no one with a straight face can tell me he is performing to what they expected when the traded us what they did for him - everyone assumed he would be performing at the level tage did this year, which he obviously has not.)

To sum this up, stop preaching to people about getting over a eichel leaving… Some of us are just having fun rooting against him, and I think that is just fine and not “ embarrassing “ at all! If you take sports seriously enough to say we are embarrassing ourselves doing that then you probably take sports too seriously in the grand scheme of life. No matter, I will continue to boo him and be annoyed by his smug eye rolls - Every time he plays against the Sabres or comes here to Seattle to play the Kraken And I will continue to be fine with my toddler son calling him stinky jack.

PS the whole role of sports in our society is to create local pride/bonding and re-create mythical battles of good versus evil, see how far humans can physically ascend past what we think is possible/impossible. Like movies that do the same, they are meant for entertainment and to explore those themes for people on a societal level - so no one is seriously taking any of this to an actual personal level with a player unless they’re taking it too far.

No one ? I think our last 5 coaches arent even in the league anymore. Kruger, Housley, Disco Dan , Nolan ,and Ron . What a menagerie of absolute suck.
